Seemingly we have 3 others besides myself who are self proclaimed "Bible believing Christians", although I know there are more who read, but do not themselves engage regularly.

One is full of vitriol which spews from them constantly.

One appears fairly loving and devout but is also ever fearful of engaging in anything beyond surface level discussions while "others are watching" and perhaps rightfully so.

Then the one who reveals flashes of brilliance at times, but who also seems to shy away from the discussion most of the time.

1 Corinthians 13:

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Obviously we see this clanging cymbal rear its ugly head all too often. Not just here, but throughout all of history and in almost every direction from those claiming Christ with their lips.
Should we dismiss Biblical teachings because of one or more encounters with such gongs?

Matthew 7:6

Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Perhaps this justifies the apprehension of delving into the more nuanced and deeper discussions.
My hope, however, is that some of the silent many may come to a better understanding, even if the dog and swine are the loudest detractors from time to time.

Genesis 1:26-27

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

A lot to unpack in here, despite it being a fairly short section of Scripture.

The first thing to jump out is the plurality of the Lord shown in the choice of pronouns used.

"Let US make"
"In OUR image"

Clearly there is a plurality acknowledged right away. The verses preceding all the way back to verse 1 are some form of "God did this and God did that" or "God said this and God said that". But here, we get our very first insight as to who or what is this God that is saying and doing all of these things.

It's also quite interesting because this revelation occurs in the very sentence which declares that we're created in His image.

In order to understand the implications of that, we need an understanding of what that image is and here's our first clue.

We are created in the image of One who is pluristic in nature, and therefore so are we.

Additionally, I'd like to point out how verse 27 makes absolutely clear that in most instances throughout the rest of the Bible, the word "man" is really best translated as "mankind" and refers to all of us male and female alike.

The reason this is important is because many supposedly Christian men throughout the years have used verses out of context to diminish women and make them "less than".

There is also a loving order to things and a necessary hierarchical system in place. As well as a vast number of differences between the two sexes, but there is really no justification for belittling or not fully appreciating the splendor and equality of women with regard to them also having been created in the image if God.

Clarifications & Corrections:

1) You were his for eternity from the beginning. Just as the clay belongs to the Potter.

2) Anything you value more than the Creator you do at your own peril. Not unlike the child that values playing more than studying. Fun for the moment but dreadful for their future selves.

3) duh

4) Again what seems to a child to be tedious and unnecessary is actually the best thing to replenish a tired & worn body & mind and to refresh & renew your mind to ready yourself for the coming week.

5-10) not lesser to any degree, but rather just a shift in focus from your relationship with the Lord outlined in 1-4, to how to conduct yourselves in your relationships with one another.

No illusion of "forgiveness" by keeping the 1st four

Bruce Lee, are you saved? How do you know that if you died today, that you would go to Heaven?

I ask that question a lot. If you were at the gates of Heaven, and Jesus were to ask, 'Why should I let you in?" How would you answer.?

I welcome replies from any and every one who reads this

Naturally the above is your opinion because it is not provable and if there is a God that is omnipotent only He/ She/Them can know and understand what is in a person’s heart and mind IMO.

IMO no person should speak for a God that they believe in especially faith vs faith.
God that is omnipotent only He/ She/Them can know and ...

All through the Bible God is referred to as 'HE' When Jesus prayed, he prayed to his FATHER. No where in the bible is God referred to as She, or HER. Jesus always spoke of God as his FATHER, not his mother.

Just want to set the record straight here

The bible says, 'Except ye repent, ye shall likewise perish." and I will speak against that which is evil.

This includes making veiled defamatory comments about a fellow believer. If it so be you are a true follower of Christ. Are you?

One day I hope that understanding the meaning of another in a secular society will come to you and others who just don’t really get it.
I was not trying to change what the Bible says or to fulfill anything in it.
I am only referring to the God given right to have alternative views that have nothing to do with a bible.
