The "ORIGINAL DRAFT LEAGUE" 98th SEASON

The Ultimate $47M Challenge in SIM Basketball in its 98th season.

Salary Cap - $47M

Rules:

1. No clones, rookies, or waiver wire.

2. Each user is responsible for drafting and managing a team that remains in compliance with the league rules.

3. 7 exclusive drafted players, plus 5 non-exclusive undrafted players. The 5 non-exclusive undrafted players may be any player not selected in the draft. Each user must use their drafted players.

4. Draft Sequence: ABABAB. 1 pick rounds 1-5 and 2 picks in round 6.

5. Draft order: Users will have the option to choose their draft slot by picking closer to 1 or 24. Users will be slotted closer to their preference based on inverse finish of the previous season. Tie breakers are decided by WIS seeding if in the same conference, plus/minus if not. Regardless of record, the champion will be slotted last among returners with the runner-up slotted second to last. New users are seeded after returning users by order of entry. It is assumed that an users wants 'closer to 1', unless stated otherwise. The returning users that did not make the playoffs and chose closer to 1 will be in a weighted Random.org lottery.

6. A posted pick is FINAL. No changing picks after a selection is posted. If an ineligible selection is made, the draft will continue on and the user who made the selection will have to make another pick. Other users do not have to wait for the makeup pick to be made.

7. During the draft, site mail the next 2 users on the schedule after making your pick, or state that you cannot site mail and somebody will take care of it.

8. Draft will be on the clock. 24 hour rule in place.

9. Trades are allowed. Each team must have 7 exclusive players/draft slots at all times.

10. If any trade gets three or more veto requests, the trade will be sent to the Fair Play Committee. The Committee will be comprised of three members. A 2-1 vote will overturn the trade. Current Fair Play Committee members include benhoidal, robusk, and jhsukow.

11. General Trade Guidelines (Not firm rules. Common sense need be applied):
Trades that are acceptable: Team that trades up gives up more in total value.
Trades that are not acceptable: Team that trades up gains more in total value.

12. Divisions: There will be a division draft among the division winners from the previous season. All four division winners will submit a list of the 20 other users ranked by whom they want in their division. The user with the best record the previous season will get first selection regardless of postseason finish, second will get the second selection and so on. It is a snake draft. If a previous division winner is not returning, the spot will be filled by the user with the best record regardless of division (Tie breaker will be point differential). Lists will be made public.

13. During the draft, please refrain from mentioning undrafted players.

14. The "Commissioner" may take control of any team refusing to comply with the ODL league rules. A warning will be issued in the league forum and a sitemail, after which the user has 3 games to comply. All games in violation are 'losses'.
