you need ath/spd/stamina/depth to run those.

Reinsel is 100% correct. Don't worry a lot about your Defensive skills. Anything 20+ should be fine.

I run the fb/press on my div III team and I love it. Just recruit ath/speed/reb/stamina and you'll be fine.

You need to talk to edw1225 at Hiram in Nasmith. Best fastbreak, full court press coach I know.

Rebounding is important too. A long time ago in D3 allen, US merchant marines had a great 10 year run based on ath/spd/reb and that combo. Just pounded the boards on offense, and got a ton of cheap baskets.

Thanks msr, but you need to get out more. I agree with what many of the other coaches have said, but disagree with Weena's implication that you even need 20 DEF. I usually have some single digit DEF guys on these teams and it doesn't seem to hurt. A flaw in the game that has been going on for a while.

Don't ignore stamina. It's the recommendation above that I'm guessing people are most likely to ignore. Fortunately it's easy to find good potential stamina guys in the current version of HD.

I think that the problem is bigger than edw suggests--a high speed, high athleticism player with very low defense can thrive at DIII in any defense--even man-to-man. I've had guys who were perfect in every way but for a DE under 10 that everyone warned me against who came in and played like gangbusters on both sides of the ball. (Exhibit A is a guy named Brian Odom who I had at Silliman under another id, who ended up an All-American and conference defensive player of the year and played in a Final 4 despite an 8 defesne.)

I yield to edw1225s opinion. I will correct my statement to: Don't worry a lot about your Defensive skills.

just run it then check back in a month to see how far you made it in the NT.

yep thank you everyone for the input. i think that this offense has a lot of good potential to win and stuff.
:)

but what about playing against another fastbreak/press team? in situations like that what should i do?

Also, spread around the distribution. Dont have one guy set at 20 and the other starters around 15 or so.. Spread it out so the whole team gets theres.. WIth my St Scholastica team i have it all spread out, almost all my team gets at least 14 min.

And playing against another FB/Press team, doesnt change your own gameplan against them.. Do as you would with any other team... If you see that they are low in Stamina, run it uptempo, if they are high in stamina, above your own guys, run it regular.. Dont change much
