LIVE is DEAD Topic

Support refused to change/update LIVE. They refused to get rid of all the rediculous bullshit that goes on it in. Now they got what they asked for.

LIVE IS DEAD.

How do you figure I am playing Live right now.

Hmm, 22 live teams active at the moment, 1 starting tonight. Seven or eight of those teams are less than a month into their seasons. If that's dead, I can live with it. I'd love to see some improvements to live, but why would support spend its time on the aspect of the game that attracts about 5% of the Sim Baseball players?

And yes it's frustrating that so many leagues are stuck at 18-21 owners or so right now, but they'll fill eventually.

Because we are customers and it's called customer service. They haven't had that department for awhile now. Laid them off apparently.

what would you have them change?

The glitch that dictates that when a reliever comes in and allows a batter to reach on something other than a hit or a walk, that the batter doesn't count towards the relievers batters-faced total and therefore you have to leave in the reliever for another batter whether you want to or not. And God help you if the second batter also reaches on an HBP or an error because the reliever will then have to face a third batter against your will.

Just alot of retarded logic. I won't even get into bunting and bunting into double plays, or bunting and the 3bman miraculously runs in from being back and throws to 2nd to get the lead runner.

It's logic like BLOOP hits with 2 outs and the runner on 2nd doesn't score or try to score. A bloop hit is just that, it's no line drive to the outfielder. Running on contact with 2 outs, even Paul Konerko scores from 2nd on a blooper. Yet, you explain this logic to WIS support and they are clueless and state that runners don't want to make the last out of an inning on the basepaths.... They don't understand, the runner scores standing up every time. They're programmers that haven't played the game or don't watch much baseball.

I think its more than likely a computer generated outcome that is given a random outcome message. It's more a problem of narrowing the scope of the random messaging in the programming than them not understanding baseball.

I think this is a problem as well. It is one of the reasons I think that we see so many inside the park homeruns as well. I wish they would add a few more descriptive terms into the rotation as well.

I think saying LIVE is dead is little extreme.

It is definitely not dead. I have played rather consisently for just over 3 years and the only major difference I see now is that leagues take a bit longer to fill and fewer and fewer leagues are being started. There have always been your core group of hardcore guys with a bunch of others sprinkled in. I have never played a LIVE progessive league so I really don't know if the same holds true for that.

I have noticed a lot of postings lately about games crashing. However, I haven't seen one in a few months, and I know I play more than most and typically sub a lot (one of the things that causes them to crash). So I really can't speak to the SIM being broken. I'm beginning to wonder if it is directly connected your the computer that you are playing on.

You just have to come to terms with the fact that LIVE will never get as much attention paid to it by the site staff. It is just not a huge priority to them. I don't know if there are any underlying reasons but that is just how it is. There is really no point getting your panties in a bunch about it.
