Do any Worlds fit me? Topic

I would join a World where running a sub 25 man MLB roster is effectively discouraged. Running a sub 25 Man roster puts teams at too much of a long term competitive advantage and it never happens at MLB.

[I don't really care to get into a discussion about how I am wrong about this because I am not and I know that there are differences in the hard cap and lack of a 2 way contract which means that HBD teams can't use 40+ guys a season at the MLB level like most RL MLB teams do. I really just want to know if such a world as described above exists]

what?

I'm not sure I get the competitive advantage thing.

I think what he is trying to say is if you use less than 25 players that you can usethat money for something else other than payroll.

I doubt $360k or whatever the exact minimum is goes all that far. Its easy enough to fill in the last spot on your major league roster w/ somebody that's going to minimum or close to it. Defensive replacement for your lineup, or a long B type, you can find those for pretty cheap. Can't imagine there are many people regularly playing w/ something less than 25 men on their major league roster.

Well, what I stated is the only thing I can think of. Maybe he would like to clarify.

and you save on service time for those players you don't use (to me if a guy is a 25th man saving service time on him isn't a big deal)

nevertheless tho if you wanted to save on service time you could still fill your remaining spot/s with a guy making the minimum and just release them every few years so you wouldnt have to pay them from arbitration on. its really a nit picky thing to make some1 fill that last spot. it would be so easy to do for no cost at all that does it really matter?

i dont see what the big deal is. i have a team or 2 where i have less than 25 men on my roster. im not saying i have like 20 but i have 23 or 24. i have what i need on my roster to succeed and if at any pt i need something else i have room to promote or trade without having to demote anyone.

if someone can explain why i would love to learn how this could be an advantage short term or long term.

I usually use 13 pitchers and 12 position players. So where do you cut yourself short?

Occassionally I'll start a season with 23-24 to save a year on service time.

We're approaching game 100 in MG and I have 4 pitchers with less than 50 IP(2 under 40). I have a batter with 53 AB and another with 49 AB. You can't tell me that I've needed 25 roster spots.

If I were "forced" to start with 25, I'd put a turd or two on the roster and cut them loose if/when I was ready to bring up other players.

I go with the turd strategy as well

It wouldn't cost me anything as I usually have a player or two in the minors making BL money. The only reason they don't start in the bigs, while I'm waiting to bring up the youngster to save a year of service time, is because I don't want a demotion hit to send them down.
