In my league Reggiedeal has taken a 94 win team and is 3-19 by letting his pitchers play at 0%. The league wants him removed because he is obvously tanking. I sent in a ticket about this problem and I recieved this resonse

Thanks for the note but there is no need to be sending tickets in reference to 'Tanking'. Admin is well aware of the need for league to be competitive and takes the issue of fielding uncompetitive teams seriously. Because of that Admin has a program in place that tracks teams that are 'tanking'. Admin made this publicly known in the forums earlier this year. Please familiar yourself with it and the guidelines that will be adhered to.

Forum Posts: 1282 We wanted to let everyone know that we began enforcing the "Failure to Field a Competitive Team" section of our Fair Play Guidelines today. It was introduced months ago, but we wanted to let the dust settle before enforcing it.

Every Tuesday morning, we scan through an automated report highlighting franchises with big league teams with a winning percentage under .250% that has played at least 50 games but fewer than 150. Users in violation of this rule will receive a site mail with more information.

Remember, this rule is in effect to keep worlds competitive. Franchises can play for the future, but getting a competitive team on the field is not a difficult thing to do in most worlds as it usually comes to not having a healthy or complete pitching staff.

Thanks

I just wanted to say that I think it is ridiculous to force our league to wait until 50 games for him to just get a sitemail. and then wait longer for any other further action. I do not understand why we can not remove an owner right now that is not fixing the probelm after numerous warnings-- via- Trade chat and main board chat????

On the plus side if its your league you can have him removed at the end of the season.

P.S. I do agree with you. If a coach is obviously tanking something should be done, and I don't believe their response is consistent with their previous actions.

Probably because he paid to play. Did any of this happen to catch your eye when he asked to join?

Add that to the fact that he's played in 19 worlds, has 12 of them behind and you might have heard a siren go off.

Makes me wonder why someone would pay to play, tank, then leave the league. Seems like a big waste of time and money.

5-157 kinda sticks out.

15-147 doesn't?

that's impressive to go 5-157.

Maybe he is dyslexic and his mind sees things backwards.

Even so, BEFORE THE LEAGUE STARTED, you could've checked his "active teams" and probably seen 7-75 in one of his other leagues and it MIGHT have sent up a tiny little red flag.

Reggiedeal has a history of this. He started Continental Leag and in the middle of his 1st season, he let his team and the world go....we got rid of him and got a new comish...Were in season 9 now and I run the world and it is smopoth as silk.

I remember him clearly and he is a LOSER.

Tell admin to contact me and ill vouch for his loserness (my made up word)...

I would think that a person would really have to "Work at it" to go 5-157!

How true. You'd win more than 5 games just by happenstance unless you were actively sabotaging your team. I could take my HiA team and I'm sure I could win at least a couple of dozen games or so. After all, not every team in the league is a juggernaut.

He's 3-59 in Field of Dreams. And yes, we should've caught him when he joined. But to traceysemmel's point, our commish has been trying to get rid of him all season, to no avail. WIS apparently has no interest in enforcing the "under .250 rule".
9/25/2009 8:37 PM
well, as commisioners, i have to agree you would of caught the drift when you saw a 5-157 record. That has got to be harder to accomplish than winning 40 games!
