not even looking at the players involved:

1) are you planning on competing for the w.s. this season?

2) will this guy make your team better this season?

3) will this guy make your team better for more than this season?

if the guy's good (and young, meaning under 32) he'd probably be worth getting

but, as i said, i didn't check out any of the players involved to be more specific

how many years does the guy have on his contract? if it's his contract year and he's not willing to re-up, don't do it.

i think this year and two more....my division is very competitve the defending ws champ is in my division and two seasons ago i won 91 games and finished in last place

i get errors when i try to click on the players involved

I looked up the players. The pitcher is 30 years old and signed for this year and 2 others. I would make the trade because he is a 20 game winner every year with an ERA under 3.

and with a 93 patience there's a chance that he re-signs when his contract expires.

id just hate to give up 2 or 3 potential stud pitchers? any thoughts on the guys id be dealing away?

anyone?

that link doesn't work for me either

If I think I have a team good enough to win it all this year, and have a chance tomake a deal for a complete stud that hopefully is good enough to put me over the top, I will normally go ahead and do it. Its always a tough call - do you want to be a good team every season or a great team for the next few and then have to rebuild?

You might want to learn how to post links so we can see the players...we can give you more accurate advice.

Thomas is pretty good, Fox is OK, the other guy is garbage.

Basically, it's a fair price to pay for a SP of that quality. If that's what it takes to get you over the top, do it. Personally, I would explore other options to improve my team while holding Thomas for the future. Then if this was the only way to cement a legit playoff team, I'd pull the trigger.
