So, you have an owner, by all accounts a great owner, but one day he ups and leaves. His team then goes on to almost make the world series without him, so by no means did he bail on a bad team. He just says 'I'm quitting WIS, later." No explanation, nothing, one day he's there, the next day he's gone.

A week or few later you see him trolling around the Forums and see he is in a few worlds again. This is where the question comes in:

If you have to replace an owner, do you let this individual replace the current owner?

Nope.

Holy jesus we agree on something. Hug it out?

Nope.

Try to keep in mind some people's lives are more complicated than others...what if the dude was in the hospital? Or his mom was dying? Or he got his 3rd DUI?

Does an excuse really excuse anything?
9/30/2009 9:51 PM
By definition, I think it does...

I think a excuse can be acceptable. I just saw a long time coach who did not reup would like his team back, his reasoning was he was in a tent in Kuwait for 11 days. I find that as a acceptable excuse. Someone that just says they are quitting is not a acceptable excuse.

An explanation does not necessarily equal an excuse, but an excuse does excuse the transgression and/or ommission.

Just out of curiousity, what was he doing in a tent in Kuwait for 11 days?

the kind of owner that gets flaky and bails on his teams once (for whatever reason, legit or otheriwise) is the kind of owner that gets flaky and bails on his teams a 2nd time

so let him back in if he's "better" than the other candidates you have available to you ... but don't be suprised if he goes AWOL again in the future

Shocking that kjd couldn't even tell the truth in his post above.

The owner gave notice and . Then, the owner came back and replaced a derelict owner as a favor to the commissioner.

Owner who "quit" never asked for his old team back. Owner who "quit" took over an abandoned team and helped league. Only person who is remotely pissy about this is kjd - who is whining because his team doesn't get to beat up on abandoned team in his own division and now has to contend with an owner who could out-manage kjd at HBD if he were in a coma and paralyzed.

Summary: kjd is a pissy whiner. Bring on the red line, thin-skinned douche.
