Ok, so combined on 2 names I have been to the playoffs 7 times. I'm down 0-2 in the first round right now on the other name, if I lose I've been to the playoffs 7 times and have never won a single series. So I ask again, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Here is the other one so you can see my complete suckage.

How would I be qualified to answer my own question? You make no sense.

I've at least won some playoff series.

Does that clear it up for you?
10/3/2009 8:21 PM
What adjustments do you make between reg season and playoffs?
10/3/2009 8:59 PM
None, which may be my problem I guess. Last season on the other ID I tried to increase my SP pitch counts so that maybe they'd go longer since I had lost to the same team I was playin gthe season before.

The playoffs I'm in now I changed nothing, and game 1 I had my ace give up 6 ER on 9 hits in 7 innings. He was 18-6 with a 2.41 ERA in the regular season. The next game I had my other stud pitcher go 7 and give up 2 and I lost 2-1.

I'm always adjusting. Trial and error.

Take pitching staff down to 11, have an extra y pinch-hitting specialist on the bench. You could even go down to 10 pitchers for the World Series and add a pinch runner.

Its a crapshoot, i've had the best reg. season record in the league and been swept in my first series, i've not lost 4 in a row for an entire season, got 3 up in the WS and then lost 4 straight...

Much like real life its a case of getting there over and over again, sometimes you can just be unlucky and lose games you should win.

I also find that dominant hitting will help you during the reg. season, post season is set up for dominant pitching.

That's interesting, but I just lost again, that makes 7 times in 7 times out without winning a series. I only had 8 pitchers ever get used, and 2 of my starters got crushed when they are some of the best, and one is the best, in the world.

Do people usually set the call bullpen setting real high so their pitchers get pulled real fast? Is that what I just messed up?

I agree with schuyler. Small sample size. You are putting entirely too much thought into it. Aside from the adjustments that have been mentioned (shortening your pitching staff in favor of a couple of bench specialists) you just have to cross your fingers. The playoffs are indeed a crapshoot, especially when simulated by a bunch of numbers in a computer program...
