Loss of Ratings after off Season. Topic

Does anyone know why a team would lose player ratings across the whole team? This is the first time I seen that. SG went from 611 to 605, PG went from 609 to 607, C went from 597 to 585, and so on....

It's just apart of off season. Chance of going up and chance of going down. I had a C go up about 25 points this off season. Just the luck of it all. I am sure WE has something to do with it, but *shrug*

It has nothing to do with chance.

It's due to juniors maxing out most of their stats during the season. For some reason, during the offseason players almost always drop a point from their potential if they've reached it.

Yup, that is exactly what happens.

That's fine, but it doesn't make any sense. I doubt most top-level guards lose a step in the off season while they are working out, especially if they have a decent WE.

Did anybody say it makes any sense?

I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect it's because you can actually get guys to go a point or two above their potential number during the season, but they always drop back down in the offseason.

As a comparison (if I remember correctly), before potential guys all "maxed out" at 97. You could get them up higher (99 or 100) during the season, but they would always drop back to 97 during the offseason.

Like I said, I don't have any inside info, but that's what I suspect.

Wrong, cs has stated numerous times it is a hard cap. You can not go above a players potential no matter how many millions of FTs you have them practice or how many rebounding drills you put them through.

Z, what I think he means is that you can get them to increase another point or two after you've gotten the "you might wanna think about moving the minutes elsewhere" message from the ***'t coach, and then in the offseason they will lose that point or two back.

I could agree that that is plausible, I have not tracked it tho.

You can definitely get 1-2 points improvement after the message from the asst coach. I've noticed many players going up 1 after the message, and several other people have posted they regularly get two with significant practice minutes.

As there is no way to see the actual "potential" number, I don't know if they are actually going above that number or you get the message a couple points before you reach it.

As I said, they always drop back down in the offseason though.

Edit: I am srunstro.

I know you can get a few points of improvement after the message, I never said that that wasn't possible.

Are all of those top level guards in midseason form at the beginning of every season?
