Dropping a bad pitch Topic

Is there anything you can do to make it more likely that a pitcher will drop a bad 4th or 5th pitch? Good coaching I guess?

Good coaching is exactly it.

how late can it happen? Does a 24 year old stand a chance of dropping a 20 rating pitch if its his 5th?

Do you really think that the sim operates in such a fashion that a bad 4th pitch is worse than no 4th pitch at all?

As if your guy is compelled to throw it with some minimum frequency as determined by the Great Random Number Generator in the sky?

I had heard that the best way to avoid having your guys actually use a crappy 4th pitch was to just draft catchers nicknamed Three-Finger

Are you saying Mordechi "Three-fingered" Brown should of been a catcher?

The answer to both those question is yes.
I believe it's certain, and if any vets have the info to back me up...

I believe a DevChat noted that a 5th pitch in the 20s can be effective, on the sliding "more pitches = better, as long as they're not awful" scale.

I want to find a guy with a 1st pitching rating of 100 and 4 others 10 or below. And see how good he is

The higher your catchers pitch calling rating is, the better the pitch selection would be. Therefore, the bad pitch would not be called very often.

I know that this topic comes up all the time, but I thought that the game wasn't simulated on a pitch by pitch basis.

You think it's not simulated on a pitch-by-pitch basis because it isn't.

Why do people who have 0 teams continue to post ? Smart *** answers no less. Probably an alias, but for whom ?

Not an alias. I'm active in the Hamilton world

I apologize sincerely, for being the first guy to post a smart *** reply in this forum.

I am still interested in hearing about the proof for decks' belief, which, so far, I haven't seen posted.

Has anyone figured out the question above on how late it can happen? I have a 19 year old stud pitcher who just finished his 2nd pro year who has a terrible 5th pitch. The pitch has a rating of 12 and according to my scouting, is maxed out. Additionally, if he does drop it, when in the season will it happen? Will it happen at the beginning of the season, or in Spring Training or could it occur at any time during the season? Thanks.

I'm not sure how to post a player's link. Hopefully this works.

Now that catching PC was brought up, lets have an option that says Catcher A is in the game when a certain pitcher pitches.
