LINK TO AVAILABLE PLAYER LISTPLAYER POOL:
Catchers: 1921, 1981
Corner Inf: 1931, 1991
Middle Inf: 1911, 1971
Outfield: 1891, 1951
Pitchers: 1901, 1961
WILD CARD: 1941, 2001
Draft pool/positions: Each position will be represented by the seasons indicated above. Available player lists will be provided, and they will be the FINAL WORD on who is available and who is not. If they're on the list, you can draft them, if they're not, you can't. ELIGIBILITY will be determined by PRIMARY POSITION only. Secondary positions will not have any bearing on a player's eligibility.
Wild Card: You may select up to two wild card players during our inaugural draft, one pitcher, and one position player. In future drafts, you will have the opportunity to select one wild card player if you wish. There will be no restrictions on how many wild card players any particular team has at any time.
I would be in favor of voting to include wild card players in future seasons (they are locked in for seasons one and two, we can address future drafts once we get going).
******************************
ADDITIONAL RULES CLARIFICATIONS WILL BE POSTED HERE. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions that need to be addressed in terms of league rules. I want everything to be 100% clear for everyone as we proceed.
DRAFT ORDER: Our initial draft order will be randomized. Future draft orders will be based on w-l record at the 120 game mark with a 30 win minimum. A league-wide vote can be called to change future draft orders if necessary.
TRADING DRAFT PICKS - Trading of draft picks is allowed up to one year out. In the season one draft, and during season one, you may trade season two picks, but no further out. This is to prevent any owners from trading away too much of their team's future in case anyone needs to take over that team.
PARITY RULE FOR FIRST DRAFT: To have a more equal distribution of talent in the first year, We will have the SAME DRAFT ORDER IN ROUNDS TWO AND THREE (the opposite order of round one) and alternating 1-24, 24-1, 1-24, etc. starting with round four.
WILD CARD/NO CLONES CLARIFICATION: This is a no clones league, so in the event that someone is selected as a wild card player and they happen to be on the available player list, the listed version of that player will also be marked as selected.
Also, if a player who was active in 1941 or 2001 is selected off of the available player list, they will no longer be available as a wild card player.
In the initial draft, both WC can be from the same year or you may select one from each.
TEAM NAMES: Teams can be named anything you want as long as they begin with the name of your home city.
