PI tourny titles count? Topic

Who has won the most in HD? To the best of my knowledge, I have won twice, both times in world Knight.

Also, does anyone think playing the PI for a small rewards point qty would help? say like 20% of the NT each round?

Finally, does anyone think it would be ok to turn down the PI, just like real life, I have read several coaches say they would turn the PI bid down if they could in this game, not sure if real life any / many coaches have?

I don't understand why coaches in this game would turn down the PI, but I have read that too. You get extra money, who cares how much. If people don't care about the games, don't gameplan for them.

Real life is different, because the team may not make any money if they have to travel. I know that has happened in football bowl games.

We do earn prestige credit for playing in the PIT. That's enough reason not to turn down an invitation

Without the PIT title, I'd have nothing to brag about.

Turning down a PI bid??? LMAO!!!!

Ive won two also...one in Tark one in Naismith...

There is something to be said for turning down a PI invitation, specifically at DI...there are certain times you bubble the NT and sorta know your team is going to make a deep PI run...Avoiding playing in the PI and the Final Four of Championship run can lead to an underclassment staying in school. The season I won in Tark my best player and it ended up hurting me the following season.

The PI champ has gotta be FD34...

i have won 3 PI titles. Two in tark and one in Knight. Maybe I am the PI King?

Maybe you could turn down a PIT bid in disgust in hopes for a more favorable selection the following year, for instance if your team was right on the bubble. Kind of like working the calls in a game.

i think it would just be more out of frustration than anything.

i would bet real money that some coaches would actually turn down the invite if that were an option. i wouldnt. im not saying it makes sense. but im sure some guys would, just out of sheer frustration.

i only have one PIT title. but i cherish it nearly as much as my NCs.

it was in my second season ever. (iba season 05)

it was the very first season of the PIT here in HD.

and along the way i beat guys like kelby, alblack, and vandydave (back when vandydave was vandydave:-) . and the tourney was loaded with other guys who would go on to become big names in HD

As I like to remind everyone here from time to time, I won two PIT titles in three seasons at Western Washington in Allen, something about which I'm inordinately proud. I think when I there I had the most D2 PI wins in Allen; not sure if that's still true.

Aside from that, I actually enjoy the PI quite a bit. The teams are usually pretty evenly matched, and you do get some minor prestige and recruiting cash for your efforts.

Anything that keeps down the dead time between end of the season and recruiting is fine by me.

Agree

My concern is that it affects early entrees. I would hate to win the PIT and have a player leave early that wouldnt otherwise. Not sure if they are related or not though.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of their value.
