he is 21 and his speed is 100.

Low BE guys tend to inconsistent imo. I think somewhere around his current AAA performance and his last year's performance is about right (closer to this year). His low OBP limits his SB, which hurts the little bit of value he has.

Just my opinion...others may love the guy. Find one of them and trade him to them.

If I'm carrying 13 position players (and I almost always do) I'm ok with this guy as my 13th guy. .250 hitter with 10-12 homers and 15-20 stolen bases (I have my base steal setting on 2) off the bench.

I have a question.

You can do a search, find a player who is very similar, in your world, and se what kind of performance to expect. Put that guy in Cooperstown and he his .127 while he might hit .259 in Happy Jack. Or vice versa. Every world is different. So why not search YOUR world and find out what to expect?

Did that, did not see any comparable players.

OK. My point is you are going to get 2-5 opinions based on their experiences, in completely different worlds, that will amount for nothing.

I understand what you are saying. I am not necessarily looking for projected numbers so much as I am which ratings different, successful veterans value. I want to know if an otherwise decent hitter can be successful with such a horrific batting eye. I do my own research, but am also the type of person that likes to learn through listening, or in this case reading.

Fair enough. He won't perform as well as you'd think. His high contact/speed will help but he'll frustrate you because his AVG/OBP will be almost identical. He won't be good vs. RH and, if he can't field, you'll find him useless when he starts making a mil.

I knew I used a similar player.

Better VR and eye.

Read what ten veterans say and you'll have ten different ideas, probably none of them better than your own. Here is one time where miket is probably right.

Agree. He's about .300/.315./450, in a neutral park in an average world, will steal 55 bases in 70 tries or thereabouts if you set your stealing to a high number (would steal more but you can't steal first). He's an LHB with reverse splits, so he doesn't have an obvious platoon role. Even with the SB I want more offense than this from my LF.

thanks everyone.

I think he'll be a productive player. Should be able to hit around .300 with a decent SLG in a neutral park.

Because of the low BE, you probably want to bat him lower in the lineup.

I like the guys numbers, especially with his speed. The real best advice is to play the guy and see if you get the results you want out of him. The worst advice is to start trading guys away based on what other people say in the forums.
