I'm not interested in starting the arguement in my league's world chat over again, so I won't provide many details. Suffice it to say that I feel that a fair trade, between two experienced owners, is being vetoed because the defending world champs improved their team by dealing a prospect, and many of that world champs competitors don't like to see them get better.
Let's just make this a hypothetical actually...
Regardless of whether this violates the fair play guidelines, I'm more interested in discussing possible variants to the veto system.
Any ideas as to how we can improve this system? Could we give the league different options on how it works? Say, some leagues require more or fewer votes for vetoes, or some require the commissioner's approval before a veto takes place? This could be known before an owner joins a world, so they are clearly aware of what kind of veto system is in place in the league they are joining.
I'd rather not have to give up a paid season for the returning world champs, as I'm going to have to do because I refuse to play in a league that uses the veto as a competitive tool.
