Has there ever been an idea tossed where a coach can do something (maybe spend some recruiting money) to try and keep underclassmen from leaving early? Might be kind of interesting to try and keep some guys around. Maybe you could only use the option every 2 or 3 seasons. Something like that.

I have said before it'd be cool if guys could come back during the job change period. I think it is a low priority to think about this tho, I'd much rather get EE fixed first then consider making the game more time consuming (not sure that complexity is really what HD needs).

an option to promise playing time before they go - some kids wont care - some might have their minds changed

an option to spend a lot of effort convincing them not to go - and effort translates into recruiting budget - the coach does home visits to an existing player to convince him to stay - but uses up some of his budget ....

Not sure how that would work if said guy is leaving early wouldn't he already be playing?

lm2 I know it happens, as it shouldn't. That is why I said I would much rather have them fix EE's before we try and turn it into an EA Sports game.

you can always use the 'booster gift to upper classman' button

Perhaps using that option could have an effect on your loyalty or reputation. somehow

Having it effect your loyalty doesn't make sense and Reputation doesn't matter. So I don't think those things offer anything useful to the table.

The NCAA EA sports idea isnt a bad one. There has got to be something to assist in attempting to keep guys from leaving. I really believe that EE's, while they suck (They destroyed my Kansas team the last two seasons) are a critical part of the game, speficially when given the discrepency in talent. Plus while the game wont always be 100% realistic it is one of the simple things which do draw a similarities. EEs seem pretty random in real life and I think are fairly predictable in HD (Id say you can guess with 80%+ certainty who will stay or leave).

The fix is having a way to try and get them to stay. Right now we as coaches are powerless.

well honestly, this isn't even on the radar of things to be fixed....that would make the game even more biased toward the bcs teams....mid and low major teams would never have a chance...
