Fatigue in Position Players Topic

How much does fatigue affect position players? If I have a guy at 97 am I going to see a noticable drop off?

You won't see a noticeable drop off in production at 97%.

The more fatigued a player get, the higher the chance of injury becomes. Not to suggest it's appreciably more, just that the chance goes up.

A few seasons ago I had a player sustain a 35+ game hitting streak as he fatigued from 100 to 92. He then needed a longer time to recover than had I rested him sporadically through out the season.

No one can say for sure.

But, FWIW, I've noticed minor league injuries are far more frequent, for me, because I'll let minor leagues dip below 99% before benching them.

I've noticed that players at 90-93% are more likely to have slumps, and to a lesser extent, key position players (2B, SS and CF) are more likely to make errors.

You know, if you rest a guy (he doesn't play in the game) his hitting streak stays alive. The streak only ends if he plays in the game and doesn't get a hit. So if you rest him you're good.

I always figured that fatigue kind of worked like a multiplier. For instance at player with 100 contact 100 power and 100 splits at 100%. Those ratings would effectively become 91's across the board at 91%. With the same effect on the health rating.

The longer I play the less important I think fatigue % is. Just doesn't seem to be very highly correlated to injuries or performance.

What makes a position player fatigue? Innings? AB's? or combo of both?

Good question. Is playing DH a good way to "rest" a player?

DH does not rest a player.

WifS has been a bit "vague" about this but I think, if a player is in the line-up, he is credited with playing an inning. And that counts towards fatigue.

I was under the impression that plate appearances were the sole factor in fatigue, and plate appearances would correlate with innings played.

I'm almost certain that I've had benched, not rested, starters go from 100% to 99% as D-Replacements who never got to the plate.

I think I read in a Dev Chat that the DH fatigues more slowly due to not playing the field and maybe even that some positions fatigue more quickly than others, like C faster than 1B for example. Not sure though I could be mistaken.
