Is it 100% of the time that teams that use booster gifts get caught? I have not ever heard anyone say that they get away with it. I assume it only is worthwhile if your team has D prestige and no chance of playoffs any way. Is that the consensus?

I think booster gifts should just be dropped with the next release (whenever that is). They add nothing.......kind of like Durability ratings.

Its not just about getting caught though. If you are not going to sign anyone next season who cares? Just use em, get caught and then watch your prestige go back up. I've used them a few times and got caught each time, but it didn't really do anything and I kept the player. So they do add something to the game if you really want the player and don't mind having your prestige drop and then fly back up with 1 solid run.

I've tried them a few times on LL316 and never had any luck landing the player. Any idea how you got them, furry?

I think the booster gifts equal about one home visit. Take a look at the recruits from teams that get caught. They never land anyone above the level you would expect for their prestige. I think they add as much to the game as an off day does to create "reality"

You miss the point entirely tho, not every player will even accept a gift, therefore sometimes a gift has a high value and sometimes it has zero value. To say that boosters are valued at a home visit is asinine, coming from someone who came in asking questions it seems like you started a thread to point out your dislike for something you have never tried. Seems like this thread is completely pointless because you already had your answers before you posted.

Is zhawks the new vegaskevin? Because he seems to be just as big a douche. The guy just asked a question. If the thread is pointless to you, stay away and shut the f*#k up.

Most players will not accept them trust me. And if you try giving to many players gifts eventually they will tell on you and that is really bad news. Take it from me I have tried it a bunch of times. Its not worth the risk at all because most guys wont go for it.

Easy, zhawks. Are you having a bad day? I asked a question and gave my opinion. I didn't really get any insight from your nasty rant.

Does "sometimes a gift has a high value" mean that a D prestige school can get a 5 star player? I don't think so. What is the absolute most you think a booster gift can be worth for a willing kid? THAT is a question. I have never seen a really good player recruited by a team put on probation.

There was a team in the Caribbean a few months ago that signed nothing but 5 star players...and it wasn't even a D1 school. So it can happen. Did they change booster gifts after that?

I use boosters in d1 iba under an alias. I started with a d- prestige and have used them for 2 seasons they can be done w/o getting caught but the cost is to high in my opinion. In real life they are used regularly by virtually all schools so I think they shouldnt be dropped but more developed. If you plan accordinally then boosters can work
12/18/2009 7:48 AM
how well do they work brip? do you think they matter? willing to share any tips from what Coach Callipari may have taught?
12/18/2009 8:46 AM
The players that accept them can be found through the $1500 personality test. The amount of players that will accept them is what I feel not up to par. They do matter yes a player that will accept them will sign with boosters and little additional effort. They need to me more developed. i understand the game has bigger flaws but in d1 real life these are a huge deal and I think should be expanded on. The cost to use the boosters effectivly is almost not worht it unless your at a big time program with lots of tourney money.
