Diamond Legends Career League - Live Topic

Just recently got interested in the "career leagues" where WIS uses lifetime stats for each drafted player used.

Tried to research, but couldnt find anything on whether it is possible to have a live career league? Also wondering if there would be any interest in such a league?

Thanks

Someone tried to start one in live, and I believe there were only 6-7 of us who signed up. It is possible to do one, and I'd definitely play.

I tried it last year, and dahsdebater tried it a few months ago.... With that said I hope it gets enough interest cuz it would be a friken blast!

Though I'm currently spread thinly, I may be interested in an open league, particularly if in the 100M-120M range ...

Yes, I'd probably take two teams ... will see if I'm smart enough to get it set up and we'll see.

Well, I set one up ... 6/2 Average AAA to fill lineups. 60 games minimum and playoffs Live. Standard league format. MLB34967.

Dont u wanna set this up as a draft? If were talking career I wont join unless all players are absolutley exclusive! Now either we can set the draft up here or better yet we can use the draft tool!

The open career leagues are all available for everybody to take any players ... and it seems pretty fun to me. Would everyone else prefer a draft and limit it to exclusive players?

I say keep it as is for this first season ...

I was trying to run it as an $80 million OL style with AAA. Or $90 million without. Forget which was more popular. If you get it to go I'll be in.

that's great, dahs ... with $100M you get lots of really good players.

At $100M I drafted a team with some big name starting pitchers (Mathewson, Train, Walsh). The problem with doing so is that you won't be able to draft the superpower bats (Ruth, Ted, Iron Horse) unless you are willing to leave big holes in your line up! ... My biggest slugger is Manny Ramirez with .314 and 41 HR's! ... 100M looks like you still got a challenge to balance offense and defense in an open league team! ...

Really? My $90 mill team had fully adequate pitching and I'm pretty sure it had Ruth, Foxx, and Thome on the offensive side of things. Don't remember other than that. Maybe the career prices didn't drop with the update or perhaps went up a bit... Or maybe it's just that other LIVE owners think a team with Matthewson, Johnson, and Walsh pitching and a guy with a .300/.400/.550 line in the middle of the lineup is making sacrifices...

Actually I think that was an $80 million team.

career franchise style could cut down on duplicates.

I'm game to a switch to a career franchise league, as Gonzos suggested, and in that case I'll agree to a lowering of the cap, say to 90M ...
