I have always been told go with zone or M2M - but not both. Waste of practice time and the player you recruit is different. Perhaps others think differently though.
SOme zone in late game situations; Not switch to zone over all, yeah, switching to zone overall for him would be a bad thing, definitely. For some time in the last two minutes or so of the game, you can get away with somewhat lower IQ's on zone in exchange for other benefits.
Also, I don't think my number of posts or your number of posts is relevant one way or the other. I've had a combo of normal defenses along with zone in late game situations work well for me before. INdividual results may vary.
