Biggest rating increase in cores? Topic

I've never really paid attention to exactly how much my players increase, but today I got curious what's the most you guy shave seen. I've heard of big men with 1 pa with high potential improving like 60-70 points, but I'm more interested in the improvements in the core ratings as well as ath/sp and D for everybody. So for bigs, reb/sb/LP and for perimeter players, per/bh/pa. Just curious as to what the high end of the spectrum for players are.

For career or single season or both?

I need to start keeping track of that heh. Sharon, Vancleave, Postma and Brownell to a certain extent were probably biggest increases since their freshman year.

Its hard to. Every season has been some sort of change. I had guys at 20 def go up 40+ in a season and others go up like +70 for career. Of course, they have changed a bit. With the new release potential/gains sound like they will be changed again.

For whole careers.

In Allen between seasons 32-35 (we're in season 39 now), I had a SG go up 62 points in passing. Which shows you that he started really low for a guard (started at 33 and finished at 95). Makes me wonder why I ever recruited him...other than knowing that I needed 8 players and had a D prestige so finding the cream of the crop wasn't going to happen.

Back then I think there was more of that.

I had a PF go up 70+ in passing (also in Allen).

I don't think that has happened in a while, I don't think seble intended for that. I could be wrong, who knows?

In old potential you could gain 30+ in a season. In new potential I don't think you can even gain over 10 (or at least I have not had any do it.)

If 10 per season was the max, and he did it for 5 seasons with a redshirt you would be lucky to get anyone to gain over 50.

Edit *my pf on king's just went up 12 this season. Who knows*

I've definitely had guys with more than 10 per season:

But I don't think I've had anyone near 50 for a career.

Yah, you beat me to it. I've had 12. It looks like I was close and 12 may be the max. You have a couple at 12 and 11. So the numbers are still pretty close that even if they went up at that rate and didn't max out they would be around 50. The most I've had was a 27-30 point gain in the last few seasons IIRC.

That was my thought, too, furry (I was thinking maybe 30, 35 max). Although I don't have any D1 teams, so I can't speak for those guys.

In d2 CrumI had a pf, Donald Denis, with a d of 8 to start finish his career with a 92. That was one of the first years potential was instituted and I'm sure its more toned down now. His biggest gain in a year was 24 points as a junior.

I think it can be miss leading to look at all three for players as its very rare to see a player with all the cores as high increase.

Kevin Johnson (C) on my Queens Team did Improve: +11 Reb, +15 Def, +10 Blk, +6 LP, and +83 points overall

Ya I remember when potential first came out, you could get improvements of 100+ with any freshman. I had a D3 recruit improve +176 his freshman year, although he was fully maxed out after that year and didn't improve more than +3 the rest of his career.

Allen's Wichita State has a +116 this season.
