Due to some internal miscommunication here at WIS headquarters we have modified the eligibility requirements for the Hall of Fame.

We are now using the count of actual seasons played (must be greater than or equal to 5) instead of strictly using ML years to determine eligibility.

Your nomination lists should be much larger now and include players that were generated with ML years upon world creation.

You don't need to vote for them if you feel they're not worthy.

The overwhelming consensus was that you all wanted more players eligible to be nominated. The new formula will allow for this (11,000+ more players over 160+ worlds).

What's overwhelming, 5, 8?

For you, addition and subtraction.

this change can be a temporary one as it really only impacts the true "first generation" players.

i agree that the HOF should be very exclusive, but the way it was before there were deserving (necessary) players being excluded do to the fact that they were generated in the first batch of worlds/players. even if they leave the requirments as is, a player still has to be nominated and voted in. if anything it will only make for more fun and interesting debate: "who nominated THAT guy?!?!"

Like it was said above you don't need to vote.

If there is a 5 year stud, it still might be hard for me to vote for him. Maybe 100 wins and a 1.75 career ERA might do it.

There's an imaginary X number of major league years prior to the start up of the World.

Don't know if that turns your crank enough to imagine "well, he was this good for 5 years, and there were 10 imaginary years prior"
