Pulldown Question(s) Topic

1. How soon do players begin dropping down? After signings begin?

2. Does the amount I've recruited X player affect his rate of drop down?

Players dropdown nearly every cycle starting early on the 2nd day I believe.

I'm pretty sure they start dropping in the 11am cycle the 2nd day. The amount you already have put into a player has no effect on how soon he drops unless you have enough into him to actually pull him down ahead of when he normally would have dropped.

early morning of day 2. Either 5 am or 8 am pacific time. Pull downs can drop to you before drop downs drop though - you can pull someone down by the 2nd cycle.

And no. They drop in the order regardless.

How can you tell if guys have dropped? Sorry if this is a dumb question...never done pull or dropdowns before.

Well, one way is that they will start showing up in your recruit searches for your division: If you have been keeping track and a new guy shows up on the search, he's probably a dropdown.

As far as pulldowns, when you stop getting a "YOu are a backup' message and start getting more regular and receptive messages to being recruited. . .

Ahhh, thank you aintheb

colonels, if they have previously given you a backup message, when they drop you will get an email. They do start at 11 am eastern on 2nd day. I just had 4 drop. Here is a sample of the emails I got:

"I'm looking to be a big fish in a small pond so to speak and those other schools don't give me that. Call me if you want me at Montana St., Billings next season."

"After talking it over with my parents, Montana St., Billings seems like it may make sense for me after all. Call me."

Those came from the recruit himself obviously, and for another kid there was this from my AD:

"Remember xxxxxxxx? Doesn't look like he's signed anywhere yet - I think we have a shot at him. " (name redacted to protect my recruiting chances...lol)

Cool, thanks again

I just pulled down 3 players in one recruiting session. It's easier to sign the good players by pulling them down because then you can avoid recruiting battles.

Not true. I pulled down a DI player to DII only to have a DII coach with an A+ prestige swoop in and convince him to consider someone else besides me. The pulldown is not an automatic sign-down. The work is not finished just because the pulldown is considering you.

I know that, but it is way less likley to have a battle then dropdowns.

Would an A+ d3 team have any chance against a B- D2 team in a recruiting battle? He has 6 open schollies so i know he has some cash?

I really doubt it if he wants the player at all. Ignoring NT success, he is going to have ALLOT more money to spread around than you do.
