What does everyone use? Fatigue or Target Minutes?

I've always used Fatigue but thinking about experimenting with Target Minutes in my last exhibition.

fatigue - target minutes are obsolete. They were kept on as an option for the codgers who weren't willing to adapt, and because it didn't take any extra coding to keep them around.

With target, your players will stay on the court when they're too tired.

i still say that something got screwed up in the transition .

target minutes used to work really well. And when they added fatigue settings as a second choice, you would think that the target minutes option would work just like it used to.... but it never did. and we never got a good explanation why.

this was one of those things that was better off not trying to imitate real life. I agree that the old method was not very true to life (you set a target minute range for each player and then if the other team goes uptempo and you didnt expect it, you just watch as your players droop to the floor while fresh replacements sit the bench) BUT...

it added a neat strategy element to the game that is gone now and i, for one, miss it

I knew I had read something about it and knew people didn't use it.

I am glad they are still around. I have a good use for them when I promise a start. You should be able to promise a start and play the freshman 5-8 minutes.

Target minutes guy here.

I still use target minutes...especially if I've made minute promises, which usually happens

i have only used minutes once and i just take the forum sentiment that it doesn't work right. conceptually, fatigue should be a lot more effective. promised starts exempted but i just don't make promises i mind keeping with fatigue :)

I will state (once again since your closed mind never seems to hear things the first 14 times) Just because you have promised guys minutes does not mean you have to use TM. If that is the sole reason you are using it it shows (once again) that you don't understand hd.

zhawks - do you have a way of only getting them a few minutes a starter without using TM?

I sometimes use target minutes in games where I know that I'll be blown out - that way I know I can get lots of minutes to the right players.

I do, I had to do it last season w/ a SG. He had bad stamina so I just set him to fairly fresh and he only played 10.5 min a game I think.

zhawks just likes taking shots at colonels whenever he has a chance. I wish he would just take his issues with colonels into a sitemail war. I use target minutes only when I have promised a start, but want to keep the minutes to a minimum. Even with target minutes at 4-8, a starter will get over 10 minutes PT in most games. If you use fatigue, he will get over 20 unless he has 50 or so stamina and you play uptempo.

And yes, I asked in Beta that they individualize target minutes (as they are in the NBA sim) and guess who railed against me there too. Individual target minutes only makes sense, instead of a 5 minute window, I would rather exactualize my players minutes so they can play how I want them to play.
