What are the chances of a D-II school stealing a D-I player fom a Sim coached team?

i occasionally do it if the player is close enough and worth it. I wait to see what the fss says on how tight he is with the school before making a move

Brian...this is impossible. There is no way that a Division II school has the money to take away a SIM DI target MAYBE unless A+ and super close recruit. SIMs take 2 walkons which is an extra 30K into their recruits. D2 schools don't have the $$$ to compete.

Unless I am misunderstanding the question and both schools are D2 and the player is a D1 drop/pulldown, there is no way a D2 school is going to pull a recruit from a D1 Simmy.

it can be done I make sure its not there main target and then it can be fairly easy you just gotta be careful that a human d1 doesnt jump on board

It can be done, but remember all sims recruit each recruit from a cost of 260 miles regardless of where their campus is. Count on dumping at least 15000 to do it. And they have a huge prestige adv, coming from d1.

i dont think the difference between an a+ d2 and d- d1 is very big. the lowest d- vs the highest a+ might be less than 1% difference. i wouldn't rule out the possibility a really high a+ could even have an advantage over a really low d-, but i don't think its the case... i think it might have been the case when a d- could get so low it dropped to an a+ and visa versa. but now, it seems at least in d3/d2, a+ is capped "artificially", but i still think it can get down to approx equal.

IDK Billy, I've had A+ d2 schools and couldn't pull down stars, but a d- d1 school starts with 1 stars recruitable and 2 stars and maybe even 3 star juco and inel. players able to drop.

This is so totally wrong that I don't even know where to begin.

I just took a recruit away from D1 Dartmouth with my D2 Assumption team (which has an A prestige by the way, not even an A+). I used evals and promises and it cost me less than $4000 ($3860, to be exact). I hate when a coach who has no idea what he's talking about makes a post that a newbie would accept as gospel but is just *** backwards wrong.......

This is excellent advice. If the recruit is the D1 school's primary target, then it would be VERY difficult for a D2 school to get him and to do so would probably cost enough to wreck the remainder of the D2 school's class.

As I said in an earlier post, it cost me about a quarter of this to sign the recruit the last time I did this. Circumstances vary, obviously, but I've done this a number of times and it never cost me anywhere near 15 grand. Maybe I've just been lucky, I guess.........

Agreed, very good advice as far as seeing if he is a primary target or not. And then it's still a bit of a crapshoot. I tried to do it recently and fell short with $10K (recruit was local, A DII vs. D- DI). So there is some luck of the draw there.

Completely agree on the fss advice and finding the main target. The 15000 was how much it took to get a second/ third target from a d1 d- school with 5 open scholies so I believe luck is involved.

Haha. Well, then I was wrong. Touche others. DCY, congrats on attempting to make yourself look better by "talking down" to another coach. Did it work?

Apparently I was told that as well to come in here and say that to someone else.
