Ivan Johnson of the Florida Marlins in MLB world is being discussed as the best player to ever be created in HBD. Any arguments/candidates out there?

Ross was a serious beneficiary of the "training bug," back there in seasons 4-7, I'm assuming.

Mr.Lee seasons 7-11

There's a closer in Spahn better than that Guy. I'm having a found time figuring out how to copy/paste on my cell phone right now so I can't post a link, but his name is Toby Niching and he plays for Dover.

do you mean for their position or best overall?

for instance a starting pitcher with slightly lower ratings than those closers is better overall because he can pitch more

i had a projected 100 overall rated slugging ss in abu world. he could play every position except pitcher and he'd even be a spot catcher his ratings are so good

Tough to beat 100s in control, vsl and vsr. Mike Ross loved him some training.

Ivan Johnson is an 85 DUR/60STA guy with a great RH split and good pitches. So far in his major league career, he's averaging 25 wins a season - because his manager has figured out that running a 3 man rotation with 60/70 pitch counts gets Ivan in the game in the 5th (NL team) and lets him pitch the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th every other day, all season.

Ivan will win 40 games some season because of how the manager uses him. And since he's 24, in good health, and blessed with great patience and Florida as a home park....the guy is going to OBLITERATE the wins mark, throwing 275 innings a season, somewhere around MLB S25. 600+ wins is not out of the realm of possibility.

As one of the Griffey owners who has had the pleasure of facing Matt Ross, I'm going to have to say that I'd take Matt Ross over Johnson all day. Note that in that season 7, he had more complete games than earned runs allowed. Just because Johnson's owner games the system to get him more wins doesn't make him more valuable. Also, I believe that there is a Benjamin Miles somewhere who was pretty damn impressive. Johnson could get the Best RP Ever argument though. Best Player though? I'll take the SP with 100s in Control, vsL, vs.R, SP1 and stamina.

Yeah, but with a 3+ era?

He is not the best player/pitcher/reliever I've seen, but he will put up gawdy #s in that system.
