I semi-watched "Cast Away" for the first time this weekend. If Hanks' character is leaving the USA to fix a problem overseas, why did his plane contain packages that were being sent to USA addresses? Is that how FedEx runs their business? When it absolutely positively has to be there overnight, we're gonna send it from Memphis to Thailand and then fly it back to Texas?

FedEx has distribution centers. I doubt they go Memphis to Thailand to Dallas but I'd be less than surprised if they went Oklahomo City/Atlanta/Dallas.
