I agree with Joey Crawford and Dick Bavetta, Crawford acts as if it's his game and people come to watch him ref. I've hated him for a long time. Bavetta is just too damn old, no way he should be officiating a game where he has to try to keep up with the best athletes in the world. Not really sure about the other Crawford but those 2 definitely need to go.

It's the NBA's way of controlling the outcomes without actually telling the refs to do something. You mentioned Donaghy: He won a staggering amount of bets because he knew the tendencies of all these different refs.

I'm sure that's part of the reason Stern hasn't done something because then it would prove a "criminal" like Donaghy is 100% right about the problem with NBA officiating.

The refereeing is the main reason why I went from avid NBA fan to hardly ever watching a game. If I wanted to watch predetermined outcomes, I'd watch WWE. It was bad enough watching Jordan get the benefit of every 50/50 call, but I think the last straw was Game 6 of the Kings/Lakers series. Blatantly rigged.

If they actually ever called an offensive foul Melo would be lucky to play 10 mpg.

umm... melo has like 8 offensive fouls this series?

I thought the officiating in game 5 of the Lakers/Thunder series was horrendous as well. I'm from LA and the Thunder got hammered every time they went to the basket in the first quarter. The games are just so hard to watch when they are officiated so poorly.

I'll take NBA officials over NCAA officals any day.

Did you watch the crawford video?

NBA reffing isn't as bad as some people think it is top to bottom. I feel that 90% are excellent. If you know there name, probably not that good.

As someone who's seen college bball reffing first hand I'd take NBA too. In college just not held accountable. I know personally refs that "love" teams and coaches and refs that "hate" teams and coaches. Big difference in winning or losing is determined by this unfoutunately.

Ya maj NCAA is pretty bad. There are definitely some blatant biases in the NCAA with little accountability like you said. I wouldn't agree the NBA is 90% excellent, but I don't like refs in general :)

Lakers/Thunder has been horrendous because the NBA wants it to go 6 or 7 games, would not shock me if the Thunder won game 6.
Think about it: The Thunder have a young superstar who most people have not seen play and now you have a national TV audience who will watch because they are playing the Lakers. Well the league obviously wants it to go as long as it can so he can get as much exposure as possible. The thing is though that they can't risk the Lakers not moving on for obvious reasons so they give you a game like game 5 to give the Lakers a little breathing room in case they crap away one of the last two games.

Did none of you watch the 60 Minutes a few months ago about NBA refs? It's documented cheating. The refs have biases, axes to grind, etc. They get orders from the league office to try and extend series, etc. It's all about the money.
