Straight from the test world. I know the formatting sucks, but you can see the general idea. All of my FR were not set anywhere on my depth chart and set to "mop up" and as you can see they have not played a single minute through 14 games. A lot more strict and gives you better control of who plays when.

Coach, sorry to interrupt, but one of the main reasons I came here was that I thought that I'd be playing some decent minutes. I should be playing at least 6 or 7 more minutes per game.

Not on my test team buddy. You just did not make the cut!

Other thing, in seriousness, that I saw Seeble say was that the player minute whining was likely going to be toned down.

Also as a confirmation, I tested this thoroughly in the 1st season and there is a nice clean relationship to stamina and fatigue settings to minutes played.

I had not logged on for the 2nd and 3rd seasons due to work killing my play time, but I noticed the following. These may have been tweaked a bit and your stamina and play styles may cause all sorts of crazy deviations so use this as a rule of thumb and then collect and analyze your own data :o). I would expect the tempo and O/D to both have their own impact on the ranges of play time.

Normal tempo running the Motion Zone...
* Any Fatigue with no #2 depth player = 40m play time
* Very Tired with a #2 depth player = 34m-38m
* Tired with a #2 depth player = 32m-35m
* Getting Tired with a #2 depth player = 27m-34m

I haven't yet, but has anyone been trying target minutes with the new fatigue to see if it makes it any more viable again?

Not so sure that this is an improvement.

A major complaint was that all DI teams have basically the same players, with 90's in the cores.

Now, since you really only need a few players, how exactly is this going to help this issue?

Supposedly with the new recruit generation this won't be the case.

With the new recruit generation there will be less of these players. But, you may as well just throw all of your recruiting money into a couple of them, since they are the only ones that will play. So it seems that every team will still have enough of these maxed out players.

This is good news. I was just about to make a post regarding an option that reads play under no circumstances. Looks like this takes care of it.

I'm not sure you understand what was posted, or maybe it just me. But the main purpose was to show that if you that the new engine will do what you tell it to do regarding your depth chart. This wasn't to show you only need to play a few players.

Exactly, aporter. I thought I made that pretty clear. Seems like the coaches who post now a days are really quick to start complaining about something lol.

This change does not have much impact on how many players you should use on your depth chart or how minutes your starters should play imo.

oh and fyi the team above is sporting a 5-9 record if that helps anyone

Pork, what's with the snide remark?

My point was that, unless your guys were very tired after playing those minutes, it seems that you need less players on the depth chart. Hence fewer good players need to be available in recruiting to create the same issues that there are now.
