Hitter’s Park and HR reform Topic

As far as I understand what goes on here, last season HBD did a reform of the HR calculations so that fewer would occur. But after a lot of backlash, they "returned things to normal" or some semblance thereof.

I play in a hitter's park (Madison +4), and halfway through the season almost all of my pitcher's have ERAs 1.00 over their career average in my park. Has anyone in a similar park noticed something in line with what I'm seeing? Did the HR/power calculations get tweaked so that hitters' parks are now even more hitter-friendly? Or am I just imagining things...

I think you're imagining things.

My casual observations are that HR's are down a little from where they were originally, before the original "end of the steroid era" update two seasons or so back.

Definitely NOT up.

56 games into the season in HR, we've got a guy on pace for about 95 home runs, and 14 players on pace for 50+. That looks a lot like the bad old days to me...

Let us know if any of those players even come close to hitting those numbers by the season's end.

SSS.

Oh, of course. Season's a third over, one world with a couple of new owners, blah blah blah. But still:

HR/Gm in HR

Season 13 (56 games) - 1.357
Season 12 - 1.142
Season 11 - 1.216
Season 10 - 1.383
Season 9 - 1.370

Looks a lot like the bad old days to me...

Looked at one of my worlds, 39 games in (obviously early) there is 1 guy on pace for 100 homers (Playing in boise) and 15 guys on pace for 50 or more homers.

Paul Konerko is on pace for 72 home runs right now. Did MLB start allowing steroids again, or is it maybe just early in the season?

Maybe that's a league problem...

I just checked MGraham for last season. We played the entire season under the new engine. That's my barometer because I essentially handpick non-HBD 'tards(although I suspect many of them lack the brains to work a McDonald's drive-thru). But, back on point, 48 homers in Columbus lead the league.

Again, you 'tards with players on pace for 80+ homers need to re-evaluate where you play. If you want realistic numbers, dump your league of dumbasses, n00bs and 'tards. Then seek out some competiton.

You're welcome.

per the World Snapshot page...HR/G are now 2.6....before the steroid update they were around 2.8...after the first engine tweak they went down to approx. 2.1...admin stated they were aiming for 2.4 (which would still be ridiculously high)...so tard worlds are certainly not the only reason for ridiculous HR totals

56 games into a season and you are projecting results for an entire season already?

Little bit better sample size...2 seasons completed since the 'roid era ended. And here are the results for the Top 2 guys from both seasons

Not much of a change. Best players are still going to perform and you can expect better/worse performance based on ballpark of his assigned team, amount of crappy tanking teams in your world and what kind of pitching your world maintains.

People are funny when they get shrill. "Oh noes! Someone is suggesting WIS may have overcompensated retweaking the HR tweak! Circle the wagons boys!"

By people, do you mean overreacting crybabies that base things on tiny crumbs of stats/info? Seems like people ***** when changes are made and then later on when they perceive an over-compensation

I didn't realize the World Snapshot was a 'tiny crumb of stats/info'.
