Allen/Smith: HD... Gamma? Topic

The new engine rolls out (for real) on Tuesday, May 18th, when Allen begins exhibition play and the first batch of new-engine recruits get created.

So here's a thread where coaches in Allen and Smith can make notes and/or post concerns.

Quick glance 1st observations:

Tonnes of FT's (86 attempts combined); stamina a huge factor (fatigue carried over to 2nd half); starters in foul trouble did not start 2nd half; major bug in pbp (players grabbing rebounds, but initial shots not listed; especially after FT's).

There are a 100 players with 83 athleticism or better in Allen. When I saw that I stopped looking. Is that supposed to be right? What's the point of athleticism anymore?

But did you also notice that some of those guys with high ATH make Shaq look fleet-footed? My favourite was an 83 ATH/1 SPD combo.

Take a closer look at those high ATH guys; many/most of them have glaring flaws that you need to work around.

I was shocked by finding a DII PF (JUCO) who is 58 BH and 39 PA. For a motion offence, that is perfect.

Definitely some interesting recruits, but man, are the high schoolers crappy.

They all look studs to me. At the DI level. There were about 10 guys last time like the top 100 this time.

It threw me to not see stars on the internationals.

There are no D1 players in all of Mexico or Puerto Rico.

#1 overall player is pretty Durant ish. I imagine the PAC10 will have a little war over him.

Yeah, but the best recruit in the history of the universe is from Cameroon, so there's that. Nine PF/C with 60-69 per.

Stars have been totally revamped. Only the top 200 US players have stars. That #40 PG and #35 SG have zero stars.

And two of the top three domestic recruits are ineligible - interesting.

this is a whole new game, in the test world, there was a top notch sg at all the sg stuf, with 65 green LP and 40 something red reb, top ten type rated player. It is going to take some getting used to for sure, seble has some plan how this will all work out, we never got to play far enough to see how teams with all new engine players would do, lots of learning to do for coaches as well as I would guess a real topsy turvy time for CS, lots of opportunity for coaches who go with the flow and figure stuff out.
