Who the heck reads a pbp all the way through, unless they're looking for bugs?

I do all the time, especially exhibition games, trying to see how tired people get, if the substituiton pattern is working, if we are taking too many or not enough perimeter shots, who is guarding the opponents scorers and how their doing....how don't you read it ever?

You can get most of that information without actually reading the pbp.

How? just reading the boxscore you can tell how tired your players got?

Many times the pbp tells you stuff the boxscore doesn't, like if one team starts fouling with 3 min to go and starts shooting tons of 3s.

<--- enjoys reading pbps before seeing the game results. The info is useful, yeah, but the drama of watching a big/good game unfold also adds a little needed excitement to HD.

If you don't read pbps fine, but plenty of coaches do. It's an important part of the game.

Even I don't do that. The only reason I remotely open the PBP is to see what offense and defense my opponent/prospective opponent ran in the 1st and 2nd half.

Reading the PbP, or at very least skimming over it, does add some level of excitement and anticipation to the game. For me, its a lot more fun going through the PbP from start to finish to see if I won rather than just opening up the office page and seeing what the final score was and what my record now is.

I always read the PBP, and I too was disturbed by the new PBP. For one thing, if a guy misses the front end of a 1-and-1, all it says is that he missed the free throw. Not good.

A lot of people do. It's the most enjoyable part of the game, IMO.

Everyone new to the game will be reading the pbp to attempt to figure it out, but as a new player the small bugs don't bother me...

I love reading the pbp, its the funnest part of WIS for me.

I started reading the pbp about two seasons ago...totally changed the experience in a positive way for me. You must bookmark the WIS dynasty front page though, to avoid seeing the result before the pbp!

I've found the issue with the play-by-play missing certain missed shot events. It'll be fixed for the next games.

Skimming it for fatigue on switches, sure. Checking the last couple of minutes in a tight game, OK. Going back through the pbp because you're specifically looking for bugs/anomalies after something in the box score catches your attention, absolutely.

But systematically reading every single line of every pbp? Really? To each his own, I guess, but just thinking about doing that bores me to tears.
