Allen/Smith regular season Topic

Quick heads up: I've pushed back the start of the regular season in Allen and Smith to Monday. There were a few things that have come up from the exhibition games that I want to take care of before the games start to count.

I apologize for the delay, but I think it's better to get those issues addressed before the regular season games. I really do appreciate the patience you guys have shown and I'm doing everything I can to reward it.

Sounds good, though why don't you take this chance to space Allen and Smith a bit more than a day?

Is this going to affect the progression of any of the other worlds?

Can we push Smith to Tuesday or something? It doesn't seem to make sense to have two worlds perfectly synced.

And again, cornfused say what you will here about my preface...

Without trying to pile on/beat a dead horse, shouldn't these kinds of kinks have been worked out before the release went live? I mean isn't there a way to test boot the new HD into action? Why weren't these "things" caught/fixed during BETA? Again, I think all are very fair questions.

Can we get some more exhibitions to play then?

Exactly.

It really sounds to me like the powers that be set a deadline, and no matter what it was going to be met....I just hope this isn't a total debacle, nobody else will probably remember this but see football pro 99 about major debacles of new releases....

They tested this one much more than any other engine release ... but regardless of all the testing in the world there are going to be issues since they did not have 2 complete worlds full of teams.

seble has been very proactive getting all of the items corrected.

PS - How many posts did you see on the forum where people said they all but abandoned their beta test teams? How many of these things could have been caught if they had not happened?

At the end of the day, PeteC was right....Seble: quit being a female dog and fix this. Hail Hail PeteC!!

Anything to get more Petec posts is alright with me :)

Not everyone abandoned their beta teams though. And a lot of these issues were being actively pointed out right up until the last beta game was simmed. In fact, there are still people discussing issues over there, though admittedly not very many.

I agree. Why not sim some more games and let everyone get some experience with it.

They have found lots of bugs, you can read about them in the forums. Things like PBP missing, and way too many fouls seem to be the big ones. Press teams are basically having their entire teams foul out

A perfect example of what MJ is saying is my game today against Goucher. Goucher plays a FCP, I play a M2M and my team gives up 32 fouls playing a +2 Defense and Goucher goes 19 of 27 in the first half, 16 of 20 in the second half, and 35 of 47 overall from the Free Throw Line on me.
