I look at pitchers a little differently. Basically, I discount virtually any pitcher with control below 70. I just don't like them. Within that range (pitchers with 70+ control) I look at vR, P1, and vL. I give weight to the variety of pitches as well. I'd rather take a guy with 4 pitches in the 70's than a guy with a 95 pitch and a bunch of 40's.

Velocity and GB/FB are nice but are gravy.

top 3 for me is control, VR, and pitch #2 ( 95% of the time 1 is better than 2 so if to is good usually 1 is good also) also is VL is really good i will take a guy with low end VR, but I use 70 as a minmum for in most cases, but will go with a slightly lower rating if they have very good ratings in other catagories.

I guess I took the long way to say that each pitcher is looked at on a case by case basis

Control, vR, P1, P2.

I think this is the correct answer. When you say "I won't use anyone with .......", you close the door on some good, or at least useful, players. Of course, if the pitcher can be found in training camp, he sucks.

Control, at least one pitch over 75, splits

vR.

That, in combination with any two/three other good qualities, gets you a serviceable to great SP.

This is my priority list and the specific ratings i look for at each area:

Control (55+)

vR (70+)

P1 (80+)

GB/FB (Only because I play in Scottsdale)

The rest fill in on a case-by-case situation

As stated, I play in Scottsdale, which is a very hitter friendly park. If a pitcher can have even two of these four, I'll give him a serious look.

Control, then vR.

My pitching's always been better than my hitting. Use a formula weighting vR most heavily, then control, vL, & P1 equally.

You do know we can look at your team, right? Because, if we do, we can see that you're giving a lot of innings to pitchers who fail to meet your ABSOLUTE minimums.

I look at DUR and STA combined first...if either is ridiculously low I just move on and won't look at anything else.

After that: vs R, control, vs L, and then make sure the pitches are decent.

for relievers: I no longer have any interest in a 2 pitch reliever with a great first pitch and an awful second one. Any two pitch guy better have that second pitch over 65, preferably in the 70s.
