The good teams are beating the bad teams. Imagine!

Uh oh, Jeff. Its not a post critical of the new engine. Means according to a certain individual you must be actually be me or Hughesjr.

I like the new engine, I dont like blind *** kissers. You two don't realize that you are no better than the guys that bash EVERYTHING, you defend EVERYTHING. Too bad they can't make a forum for the 4 people that nobody gives a **** about their opinion and make the regular one a much better place
5/30/2010 10:27 AM
OUCH! I wish they'd make a forum for the people who post personal attacks.

Relating to the topic, it'll be interesting to play a full season. I don't want the better teams to win the overwhelming majority of the games. I like to think the underdogs have a chance sometime.

Haven't defended everything. Neither has Hugh. Someone else gave that claim to him and he promptly fired back a list of things that he thought could be fixed. I do think possibly the three point shooting needs to be fixed a bit more and field goal percentage might yet be a bit high, but I don't think there is enough data to go apoplectic about it. Overall, I do find the new engine an improvement and, while it needs to be tweaked, I don't find it fundamentally flawed.

When people stop shouting ARMAGEDDON!!!!!111!!!1! at the top of their lungs, I'll stop replying with 'No, its not."

C'mon Jeff, you are a better/smarter person than this. At the very least, you are more imaginative. I'd expect a post like this from someone like ...say ...blaank.

Yeah after the first couple games, (post 5/27) I think things have been pretty excellent actually.

I think the offensive rebounding has been suppressed a bit

Hard to gauge since my only new engine team is my Tark team...and they suck...but I think I agree.

I'm enjoying the new engine - I like that my gameplanning for individual matchups seems to have more of an effect on the game's outcome.

I think the fouls and 3P shooting are a little high, but nothing that seriously bothers me.

I'd say the engine favors huge blowouts against weaker opponents. It's extremely easy "take advantage of individual matchups" as advertised, but probably too easy. The slightest advantage becomes kind of like having Dwight Howard on your team. You can hack him to death to try to keep him from scoring, and that's what the new engine seems to do.

I shot 84 free throws to my weak SimAI opponents' 8 in two exhibs. Second game I scored 1.68 points per possession, probably the best I've ever had in almost 3 years playing this game under many tweaks of the old engine. I would expect an 89 point blowout if I had scheduled D3 opponents, but not weak SimAI D1.

There are still upsets.....I was favored by 20 over someone with a lower OVR (by a bunch) and I lost by one point as they shot 49 FT's and I had 3 guys foul out. I'm glad the upsets haven't been taken out of the game.
5/31/2010 10:27 AM
strike that...the OVR's were very similar....sorry, looked at the wrong team thru the tears (not really, just saying that).
