Yay my latinos are back! Can we just agree to put the top 5 players next year in Puerto Rico to make up for 1 season without any? At least in Allen?

That's one of the funniest sentences I've ever seen uttered in the forums.

And possibly the first time it's ever been uttered by a basketball coach.

hmmmm

is he tweaking the shooting percentages? so that dudes who shoot alot of treys will not shoot them as well?

or, is he tweaking the *number* of threes that extreme players take? kind of a reversal of the 6/7 patch that resulted in my dudes shooting 56 treys in one game?

i guess we shall find out.

Man, I mention the ridiculous % my teams are shooting from 3 and there is an immediate fix, I should've never said anything, lol.
6/10/2010 4:43 PM
I am pretty sure this is related to % of shots made.
6/10/2010 4:44 PM
Yeah that is the way I read it too. I have a D3 guard scoring 27 ppg shooting 52% from 3, and has taken 68 of them.
6/10/2010 4:46 PM
this could be bad news for my orangedudes as they enter the postseason shooting 41% from downtown on 22 3pters/game. (and doing little else right)

THIS MUST STOP.WIS is coming dangerously close to losing the one thing that matters – consistency (referencing my earlier musings).

The mid-season changes are bad for the game.It is impossible to effectively game plan when the rules of the game are changed mid-stream.Do I put more practice time into PER?Do I adjust +/- on 3’s?Do I adjust defensive positioning? These are things that can be determined when the rules are consistent. When they keep “tweaking” the engine, however, it becomes impossible.Do these changes world-by-world as they roll over, not mid-season.

There would be an uprising if the NBA/NCAA said mid-season, “The basket will no longer be 10 feet, it will now be 12.Oh, and about that three-point line, we are moving it 5 feet closer.”These are changes that would be addressed after a season, not during it.This is, however, effectively what WIS is doing mid-season.

Again, THIS MUST STOP.

Duke, much like how it's always 5:00 somewhere, it's always mid-season somewhere. There's no way to make changes take effect at the same time in each world, unless it was a change the magnitude of the new engine. By comparison, these are minor.
6/10/2010 5:21 PM
duke, right now they have no choice. The engine is going to be in flux for a bit, it's not what we'd all want if we had our first choice, but they are working on fixing things, and that's way it has to go.

Your point is correct -- it's better not to have to make tweaks during the season. But with 10 worlds all going at various times, there is no offseason for HD, so while your thought makes sense, there is no practical implication for it.
6/10/2010 5:21 PM
How can you complain about them trying to fix things? Are they supposed to wait for the season to end and implement changes on a world by world basis, and force us to play through entire seasons with major flaws in the engine? Odds are the changes won't be too drastic so instead of a guy shooting 52% from 3 he'll shoot 45%.
