Playing uptempo press with three walk-ons is hazardous to your health.

Add the fact that you only have 3 guys with STA above 80 to your 3 walkons and uptempo press. Your guys were tired or very tired most of the game.

Having 9 guys and trying to run uptempo press in the old engine was a recipe for disaster in the new engine it's a no win formula.

it was tied 9 minutes into the game

So my team

9 players
81 ATH, 74 SPD, 57 REB, 87 DEF, 51 SB, 52 LP, 67 PER, 52 BH, 63 P, 54 WE, 80 ST, 72 DU, 790 overall

shouldn't be able to take a lead against

11 players
56 ATH, 60 SPD, 42 REB, 75 DEF, 36 SB, 38 LP, 42 PER, 45 BH, 54 P, 48 WE, 80 ST, 64 DU, 650 overall

That my team should have THREE steals the entire game. That the other team should have TWELVE steals.

That my team should turn it over TWENTY THREE times. That the other team should TEN times.

You guys seem to blindly be blaming fatigue, when in fact the entire game was solidly in FAMU's hands. There was no point where they had a big spurt where they took advantage of a tired team. It was constantly in their favor.

I won't even get into individual matchups.

I've been one to defend the new engine and how it'll take time to get better. However, its been 3 months and its gotten WORSE. I can honestly say the beta was more fun and a better engine than this.

Pathetic.

So long HD. Cya guys on HBD.

So you're going to completely ignore the fact that like pinkeye said the game was tied 9 minutes into the first half? Every time your fatigue levels are shown I see at least 2 players who are getting tired while everybody on Florida A&M is fairly fresh. You simply can't run uptempo FCP with 9 players and expect t owin many games, it's really that simple.

So you think those two teams should be tied after 9 minutes? really?

You think playing a fullcourt press for 9 mintues my team should be dead tired and not be able to take advantage of matchups? really?

This is all ignoring the fact my team should have dominated offensively.

Yeah, tired or not the guys were talented enough that at worst they drop off would have made them closer to him, but still slightly better. That is ONLY when they are at very tired. Fresh, GT etc they would still clearly be better. It is just one of those games. You can't blame the engine. This happens even IRL. Didn't the nets beat a few teams who they were clearly worse then?

agree with the rest here. ST is huge in FCP now. gameplanning mistake to go uptempo with only 9 players no matter what the advantage. your guys got tired and turned it over and ended up getting crushed. don't think this is too far off to be honest with the way the changes have worked.

Tanner the whole point is it's 1 game, you used a strategy that wears your players out very quickly and you had an extreme result. It's really not that big of a deal, you're not going to beat any team 100% of the time and running a FCP with 9 players really increases the variance of your results.
7/17/2010 9:35 PM
It also looks like two of your starters got two fouls on them fairly quick in the game and sat out a long stretch, which only exacerbated your stamina issues:  YOu were already playing with only nine on an uptempo FCP< and then you temporarily had yourself down as far as seven players while those two were sitting out.

7/17/2010 9:59 PM
I think both are valid points, and as I said from the outset it was a definite gameplanning mistake to go uptempo.

But part of me still thinks that tanner should've been able to wipe the other team off the court. The difference in skill level is pretty huge.

So the situation is like this: Tanner overlooked a game and had a terrible gameplan going in. He then lost on the road to the team because of sloppy play. Sounds a lot like something that happens in real sports...
