Dropdowns and Pulldowns Topic

When is a good time to start looking for drop downs and go for pulldowns? And typically, how much effort is needed to successfully pulldown a D2 recruit that is considering you as backup, assuming no D2 teams showed interest.

For dropdowns, you simply have to wait until they send you the mesaage they will accept your recruiting efforts

For pulldowns, you should wait until close to when signings start. If your targeted recruit is not considering a D2 school (or a high prestige D3 one) then you can start sending scouting visits. It takes anywhere from 10-20 scouting visits to get them to consider you, which is why pull downs are best for recruits who are closer to you

10-20 scouting reports? So this is like 5 - 10 HVs?

Well, not exactly. See, if a player is considering you as a back up then they will reject any HV's or CV's. But they CAN'T reject scouting visits, which is why SV's are the key to pulldowns

So how would you do this. Scout the ones that are considering you, decide which one you want to go for (assuming he's not in a scouted state), and then send 10 SVs in 1 cycle?

Check your sitemail, I want to show you a guy a pulled down but IDK how to post it on here.

If your a little lower in prestige it can take more then 20 scouting visits. I've pulled somebody down with close to 30 SV's one season.

You also need to offer the scholarship.

how could you afford to drop 20-30 SV's on one guy

Sorry about that, it was with a division two school. I haved pulled two guys down in one season at division three with about 10-15 SV's though.

No you don't  need to offer the scholarship. Only to sign them of course, but not to pull them down.

This is neat

I am cautious about pulling down players. I hear that it can be done, but what about when you call a recruit for the first time and he rejects the call or says something about hanging up right away or leaving 14 messages blah blah blah. Is that a guy that can still be pulled down...just takes all those SVs?

No if they reject you you got no shot
