So the commish in one of my leagues took over all decision making power without asking the league and gave it to himself and 6 other owners. They didn't ask, the league never voted publicly on it, they just took power. Pretty screwed up, but I assume cs will see how wrong it is to have someone take decision making away from all owners without permission and they will fix it. Apparently that is wrong. Ok.

What cs told them is that it's ok to take all the decision making away from the league, just ask next time. Next time? If they already stole the decision making, when would there be a next time? They can now do whatever they want even though the league never approved it. They don't have to ask to do anything.

This may be the most incompetent cs group ever, and that's saying something. Warning to league members that actually care what happens in their leagues: this can happen to you too.

Leave.  The.  World.

Seriously, no one makes you join a world.   No one makes you stay.   If the commish and his cronies are doing something that offends you, leave the world.   If you're just offended because you had no say, leave the world.  If you're just griping to be griping, stop it.

If it makes you feel better, out those that are offending you.

This pizza is horrible!
Let me taste it again. Still horrible!

I didn't invest time or money in it to be forced to leave or accept unacceptable terms for staying. The problem isn't fixed by leaving. Do - keep leaving leagues when this happens there? Sometimes you have to fight the fight.

Can't believe you're still whining about this.

Sitemail went out informing owners of rule changes.  You were the only owner who reacted negatively to the changes, until one other owner joined you in WC.  I then sent out another SM asking for an actual vote (although not to you and the other owner who agreed with you, since we were all aware of your opinion).  The results were 17 for, 2 against (you and the other owner), and the rest either didn't respond or said they didn't care.  Tzentmeyer asked me to submit a ticket detailing the situation (which I did), and CS was fine with it when they realized there was a vote.  I thought that was the end of it, but apparently not.  Since you can't get over it, I'll send you a $25 GC if you don't renew.  I'll make it $35 if you leave now.

Incorrect. I was not the only one concerned about it. What I'm concerned with is the way it was done, not that it was done. There was no public vote. There was the imaginary vote you had via site mail with no interest in having the vote done publicly. Why were you so afraid of a public vote if you had the support you claim you did? You didn't have that support in the world chat. Indifference is not support. Even one of your posse didn't say yes, he said he didn't care either way. Hardly a ringing endorsement.

The problem is that you took authority away from the league, and customer service said okay, don't do it again because it's wrong. Now that you stole the power, you don't have to ask for anything anymore. Their response is so retarded, it's not funny. Obama calls for marshall law, I assure you congress doesn't say ok, be sure to ask next time. THAT is the real issue. If you can get a public vote where the majority of non-committee owners give away their right to decide league issues, I will support it 100%. I told you that, I told admin that. Not sure why that is asking too much of anybody. Seems reasonable to me. Tell me what is unreasonable about it.

Yeah never make decisions without asking your league. You don't even need an actual vote post in the World Chat about the ideas you have and see how they respond. After you gauge the response then you make a decision.. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions but......... You need to ask the world what they think first.

Legit vote, I have the sitemails.  In WC, there were only 4-5 people "discussing" the issue because others didn't want to get into a public argument with someone who acts like his civil liberties have been violated.  No one has given up their power, the committee only votes for removal of owners who violate the rules.

So, you have the following options:

1.) Accept my offer
2.) Get 9 other owners to have me removed as commish (should be easy if I don't have any support)
3.) STFU

The money you invest is for one season.  That's it.  WifS does not allow you to reserve your team for seasons 8 thru 13.    The time you invest is up to you.   But, while you're investing your time, keep in mind that you only have that team for one season.

I left ABU because I didn't like the direction the world was taking.  Left a division winner behind.
I left Happy Jack because I didn't like the direction the world was taking.   Left a World Series winner behind.

I shed no tears.  You know why?  "The money you invest is for one season.  That's it.  WifS does not allow you to reserve your team for seasons 8 thru 13.    The time you invest is up to you.   But, while you're investing your time, keep in mind that you only have that team for one season."

However, if you just want to argue because you think you're right, have at it.   You may be.   But don't expect much support.

It was discussed for the previous couple of seasons, with only a few owners expressing their opinion in WC.  I rolled out the changes (via sm) well before the end of the season (to take place next season) and only hart objected.  When he started going nuts in WC, one other owner agreed with him while a couple of others said "meh".
8/12/2010 1:31 PM
The fact is that all this came out before rollover, hart spoke the loudest but only had one other owner on his side - everyone else was fine with the system (which by the way has produced absolutely NO changes in the way things have been run so far)..and hart chose to return this season! the only significance of the change was that the commish found 6 other people to assist him in making sure the league was being run properly (honestly I am not sure where WIS approval for that is even needed). In fact, I like the system better somply because it places even more checks and balances on the commish.

But the facts are simple: the league approved a change that hart did not like, and hart chose to stay in the league. Now shut up and live with it, or take your $35 that you were offered and move along.

Laughable response. Predictable response. Fortunately I do have other options and I am exercising them. Indifference is not support. Hole #1 of many in your logic.

Again I ask what the harm is of a public vote? I'm on record here, in the world, and in my ticket with admin that I will support the results. I'm still waiting to hear why that isn't reasonable.
