Noting who made a waiver claim Topic

If you put someone on revocable waivers and someone claims him, you receive a note letting you know who claimed that player.  If you delete that message, there's no indication of who claimed the player so you no longer know who your potential trading partner is.  It would be nice if, somewhere on the player card, it noted which team made a claim for him.  I would probably put it on the "Waiver Status" line (Claimed by mhulshult), but it could also go on the "Transactions" tab of the player card.

I know, I know, "Don't delete the message."  But it'd be nice to know if that info were available on the player card.

agreed. MikeL23 will disagree though.

Part of the problem is that reversable waiver claims are supposed to be confidential (I believe).  If you store this information somewhere on the player card, it would be available for anybody else in the world to see.

I like the idea of being able to retain this information somewhere other than in the Inbox message.  Just not sure if this particular suggestion is the best option.  Don't think it is.

What's the downside of having this information be public?  There may be one...I just can't come up with one (well, at least in the 30 seconds I've spent thinking about it).

I dont see why you cant have this information be viewable only by the player's owner even if on their card.
That said, player cards do have a Notes section where you could record and save this info yourself.

Don't we all see different projected ratings?  No reason this couldn't be the same kind of field, where it's specific to the owner of the player and the claimant.

Don't delete the message seems to do the trick.   It's the process I've used for 60+ seasons.

It works, but you're working around the fact that the data's not available elsewhere...thus, a "work-around".  Correspondence should be for communication, not data storage.

I'm not sure why you need redundant info.

Told ya so.

If you're asking for changes, they should be worthwhile.   You have the info.   It's harder to get rid of it(delete message) than it is to keep it(do nothing).    This request is right up there with "Change hat color".

That's why they call it a "public forum."

I'm just glad I haven't gotten the "This will never happen" post from admin!

This is not a change of necessity, but a change that makes things easier. If you accidentally delete the email, there is no way to go back and get the info unless the other guy contacts you. The information is clearly being stored somewhere in the system because it allows you to trade the player to the claiming owner but not to any others. Not all changeshave to be things that fix a problem -- some can be things that just make life a little easier. And this, just like the idea of having a list of trades that you have already voted on but have not yet been finalized/vetoed is one of those. It's a little thing that a some people would like and it doesn't negatively affect anything about the game.

Agreed...it's an improvement, not a necessity.  But no change is really necessary for HBD.  It's a good game.

WIS has a forum heading devoted to suggestions.  Obviously not everyone agrees with any one suggestion, but it's certainly a more beneficial change than "change hat color."

I honestly wouldn't care less if they did it.  But, if they spend time making "unnecessary" changes to give us redundant information, they aren't spending time doing something else.  Now maybe the "something else" is looking at porn on the internet.   Or maybe it's making worthwhile changes.

Again, it's easier to not delete an email than it is to delete one.   Just don't delete the Waiver emails.    Problem solved.
