These are just a few quick thoughts on HBD.

1-How bout being able to know your pitchers stats/record vs the team they're going to be picthing against.

2- How bout not even wasting time with BAD IFA's? who is gonna sign a catcher who is a total rating of 35?

3- How bout giving the owners who DONT make the playoffs or who are eliminated early, something to do for the rest of the season? like coach re-hiring  or an Arizona Fall league for minor league Stars.
( Available only to managers who are already booked for the following season)

4- How bout minor league re-habbing for players coming off the DL?

5-How bout being able to get a more involved scouting reports? maybe a few notes on certain draft ready-players? There should also be suggestions from scouts and coaches how to use players. ( Long Reliever/closer/ etc..)

6- How bout the abilty to be able to re-sign possible top free agents before next season? a Team should be able to try to keep a possible free agent at all costs if they chose to.( again only players signed up for next season)

7-How bout the abilty for Indidviual Base stealing?

8-How bout a better defensebeing played in the minor leagues. I mean does every guys with SS ratings HAVE to make 80 errors in rookie ball? I mean come on, It happens but not to ALL minor leaguers. ALSO there shouldn't be such a large range of defesnive positions for players.Their suggestions should be more realistic. DH shouldn't be a suggestion until AAA.

9-How bout allowing Coaches and Managers to be signed for multiple Seasons for continuity of your franchise. How many guys go through the minor league system and end up a coach or Manager. in this game you're lucky if you can keep a third of your coaches for more than 3 seasons in a row.You should also be able to offer coaches various positons when rehiring.Maybe i want to offe my hitting coach the 1st base coach rle for next season. i should be able to BEFORE  anyone gets a crack at him.

1. Sounds good, I'd like to see it.

2. I actually may sign some of them to fill out my minors at the end of the season if I have leftover prospect money. There are often not enough minor league catchers and shortstops to go around, so I have no problem with it.

3. WIS has already said that an AFL is in the works.

4. I dont really see the point, because players are either able to play or not..they dont need to get back into shape here. I think it just makes the game more unwieldy if you have to give a guy 3-5 games in the minors before you bring him back.

5. You already get position and pitching prospect reports, and fielding change recomendations. Most of us ignore it anyhow - just more silly fluff.

6. You can resign some of them - but just like reality, some guys insist on going free agent. Plus the prior franchise has a slight edge in resigning a guy in open free agency the next season, so I have no problem with the present system. Maybe you should be able to get the guy if you offer a max contract, but given the slight edge for the prior team, you can offer that same max contract in open free agency and win him, so it really doesnt matter.

7. WIS has said that for code/game performance issues we will never see this.

8. Do you really care that much about your stats in the minors?

9. I think the latest changes to coach hiring are enough to make the process not too annoying. I dont want to be saddled with an 18 million coaching budget because the prior owner signed a bunch of coaches long term.

These options would be available to people who re-upped with the knowledge that they can't remove themselves until after next season or forfeit the ($$$) [which would be their penalty for screwing up the league].These could be things that don't go into affect until the playoffs.

As far as point #4 i mean the abilty to take a guy off the DL and not have to put him back on the active major league roster to make a move. Why can't i just send him to the minors if I don't want him on my active major league team?right now I have to activate him and drop someone else. Why not be able to send him to the minors for a "rehab" in case i don't want to keep him on my team at the moment?

Forcing people to stay in worlds or forfeit their credit isn't good for a world.
9/3/2010 3:37 PM
Because sending BL players to the minors for "rehab" would be abused.   What would I do?   I'd remove my guy from the DL and send him to AAA until someone else is injured.   If I want to call someone up, I'd DL the guy with the 2 day injury because I know I can send him to AAA when he's better.

 Mike,
i don't see it as forcing anyone, but deterring people from abusing a team.I'm saying that if you signup early for next season make it an advantage to the owner by allowing him  to keep running his team for the two weeks that he has no reason to sign in during the playoffs. The ($$$) penalty is to try to deter people from abusing the priviledge and giving the returning owners something to do. I believe that the biggest problem that the Commisioners have arent the players like yourself  who are in it for the long haul with their teams.it's keeping the middle of the road-type owners returning and trying to re-build their teams.I just think that the more you can add to allow some sort of continuity in the league  the better chance you may have of keeping those guys.Maybe once these owners walk away for 2 weeks you'd lose them ?But if they still have a reason to sign in towards next season it muight keep them hanging in.

As far as abusing the "rehabbing" idea. The Major leagues do the same thing! So if they can do it in the big leagues why shouldn't  we be able to do it in HBD? Plus i would allow the player a limited time in the minors just like the majors. And if you really wanted to abuse the system im sure you could find a way if you wanted to anyway.

Yes, if forces people to stay(or lose their credit).    Real life sometimes gets in the way.   Intentions today aren't always tomorrow's reality.

We don't have to deal with injured feelings, media backlash or economic realities when we make decisions.   Giving us one more way to abuse roster decisions isn't making the game better.

I'm sorry i dont agree.I don't think its that serious! This is a page for suggestions( good or bad) so i'm making a few.I think that for the most part these suggestions could help the people who "play" the games.  I'm not really thinking about the people who can't.
And Just to let you know My reality today is i've been out of work for 3 months and understand very well about the importance of how you spend your money and how real life gets in the way of things. If i didnt have credits and money invested  before i lost my job (that i can't get back at this point) I  probably wouldn't be playing at all .But i'm not looking at it as if i am being forced to do anything because i signed up early for my teams. If i press a button and it says do this and i don't get my money back, and I push that button than its no ones fault but my own if i don't get my money back.I'm not gonna blame the game or league those are the rules.Listen its just my thoughts on things i'd like to see for a few game changes .

I'm sure you don't agree.  But that's OK.

However, I think you're missing my point.   You posted your suggestions on a public board.   Some will agree, some won't.   Either or both may comment.   That's the thing about PUBLIC boards.

And the thing about opinions is some think an issue is "serious", some don't.
9/3/2010 6:57 PM
OK Cool! lets agree to disagree on some issues!
9/3/2010 7:04 PM
I only looked at the first three.   We agreed on 33% of your suggestions.
9/3/2010 7:30 PM
LOL !

1. ok
2. Without those, you'd have rookie league teams with 12 players. Bad idea.
3. no.
4. I'm Switzerland.
5. no
6. no
7. code/perforfmance, already stated
8. Have you ever seen real minor league SSs? no.
