I assume I can make my pick, because the only pick before mine has to be a pitcher and I have to take a hitter.

I'll take Eddie Collins.

Sitemailed Fatboydad and Elduro.

I will take Roger Clemens

I've got an Mac, so I'm going to need help getting Musial as C, 2B, SS, and 3B.  Or would it be OK if I drafted $200K guys in those positions and set them to "rest" for the entire season?

Going to roll the dice with a guy who only played one position (and a pretty unimportant one, at that) and who normalizes like crap.

Lou Gehrig

next 2 will be sitemailed

I don't know how tdoak is planning to assign the iron glove 200k guys. It would be better if they were all DH-only guys so there's no advantage for defensive replacements :) But either way is fine with me.

Clemens is a really good pick, probably would have been my choice. I'm really torn between two. I'll go with Babe Adams for my pitcher.

Somebody's got to be the first to take a left-handed pitcher, so why not me?  Sandy Koufax.

My intent was to make the 200k guys DH only. However, I sent a ticket to admin asking how to draft Babe Ruth as a catcher, etc., and their response is that it can't be done under the game's current design!

So, I guess I will have to identify a really bad 200k player at each position for drafting purposes. With range factor as part of the searches, I am confident we can find some guys you would never want to use. But, I am bummed that this may limit some teams' bench strength. Hope it will not present a problem for anyone.

I don't get it.

The previous post for drafting players out of position didn't work for me either, so this is how I figured it out. I can't believe Admin doesn't know how to do it. What, is the guy's mom answering sitemails?

First I searched for the ARod I wanted. Then, I rightclicked on his name (Not the green arrow). Then I selected "Properties". Then I copied the unique player number. This is the first number after the parentheses, and was something like 2244050 for the 2009 ARod. Then I went to catcher, or whatever other position I needed to fill, and selected a player - any player, it doesn't matter which one. Now, once selected, on the draft page in the URL box is a bunch of numbers, but the last number is the unique player number for the guy I just drafted. So I went to the URL box, highlighted that number, and pasted ARod's number in its place (2244050, or whatever one I needed). Press Enter and voila.

Still a lot of great pitchers available. After much deliberation, I'll take my chances on ole Pete. Pete Alexander

Yeah, that method works too.

ratioman's technique looks like it works for me.  Using Firefox, I had to slightly modify his technique.  First I found the Ted Williams season I wanted (the one with his least-bad defense!), and clicked on his name to bring up the player profile.  The player/season ID number is in the URL, it actually says pid=XXXXXX.  Then I just did ratioman's technique, drafting a SS, and replacing the PID of the SS with Williams'.  Ta da! B+/C+ in the outfield can't make for THAT bad of SS defense can it? :)
