Development at BL Level PLEASE PIN THIS!!!! Topic

Another question that gets asked on a very regular basis.

Yes, players will continue to develop at the BL level assuming A) they are still capable of improving B) they play.

Great info.  But how long should I keep prospects in the minors to delay a year of arbitration?

Good point.   Any others?   Maybe, if we put a bunch of them in one thread, WifS will pin it.

What are the tiebreaker rules, if two teams finished tied for a playoff spot at the end of the season?

My pitcher got pulled after only 196 pitches when he had a no hitter going. It's an outrage!

While I don't actually disagree (personally) that players will continue to develop, this should not be pinned for at least 2 reasons.

1) It is opinion, a forum-fact, if you will, and not something that can be "proven" one way or the other like the number of days to wait before call-up.

2) It is potentially mis-leading to new owners who see this and then think that it is the "right" move to call up their talented prospects immediately if they are better than what is at the ML level now. I know *you* think they should do so in almost every case, but many successful owners (myself included) strongly disagree and think it overlooks the very important money/roster management aspect of the game.

But I do think guys will develop, and eventually can be studs at a much higher cost for you or for another team.

You'd be surprised at what you don't "know".

"You" can probably check every one of my teams and find a minor leaguer who is better than a major leaguer.   But you can also check my records and "see" that I'm not sitting around with my thumb up my *** when/if "I'm" 20-52.

That's not a question.  It's a statement.

Exactly - I'm making a statement

The premise of the thread is frequently asked questions.  You know, the one that pop up every week.   A statement would be the answer to said questions.

Those this hasn't been asked for a while, I'd stil like to add "How many HBD credits do you getting for winning a minor league World Series?"

Why are there too many homers?

I have a guy that had a 3.01 ERA last year, and this year after 6 games, his ERA is over 6. Why is there too much randomness?
