it would probably help to mention what seed you got

I agree that's a hose job - I would've guessed a high 4 seed for you. I've learned the hard way that the seeding doesn't give enough credit for playing a lot of road gms vs tough non-conf opponents.

6 really doesn't seem that outrageous

7-9 against top 100 rpi isn't really a case for a high seed

Team is 19-9. I think the 6 seed is about right, if not slightly generous. You don't have any quality wins on that schedule.

I'd say a win @ #12 RPI is a quality win.  I'd say 6 is probably a little low, but again not outrageous, especially when your RPI out-performed your games.  As stated before you were 7-9 vs. top 100 teams (post-season teams) and you lost early in your CT.  I would have guessed a 4 or 5 seed, but I can see why they gave you a 6.

Disagree with pinkeye and tianyi. A 6 seed with a 19-9 record and 6-8 against the top 50 is definitely underseeded. But you have to look at the teams seeded ahead to see how they compare. Also tianyi what do you consider a quality win, he has 6 wins against teams that made the NT, how is that no quality wins?

Ridiculous.
28 RPI and 125 SOS =4 seed.
21 RPI and 64 SOS = 3 seed.
This is some joke of teams that are ahead. Teams seeded 3-6 have range of 6-30 RPI. WTF
Also, 30 RPI and 135 SOS is given a 4.

I see many teams in the 7-10 range that have better resumes than these teams and similar RPI's.

*Edit* So how do I not have better wins and resume than most of the teams before me?

The actual RPI and SOS is irrelevant ineverlose. YOu have to look at who those teams beat and who they lost to and compare that to your schedule.

I consider wins vs teams ranked in the top 25 rpi to be quality wins (which he has 1). Fact of the matter is, the team is 19-9. His high RPI is boosted by the fact that he lost to a bunch of good teams.

I'm pretty sure I played a tougher schedule than most

You did, and you are rewarded with a high sos and rpi, but you didn't win those tough games in your schedule. Rpi and SOS can easily be manipulated; I know because I have been doing it with my teams.

Example of losing to great teams should not be rewarded. This team made the NT with 16-12 record, and is 1-10 vs teams in T50 RPI, 1-2 vs teams 50-100. Personally I don't think he should be in the NT but that's just how the system works. RPI and SOS are bad ways to look at how you should be seeded, especially when the high SOS is achieved by losing to great teams.

How about my 9 seed with a 23-6 record and 23 rpi? Started out the season with 3 losses, then turned it around pretty well, going 2-2 against the rpi top 6, including a 7 point home win against a 1 seed and an 11 point win on the road against a 3 seed. I know our conference isn't that strong, but going 16-0 during the conference slate should still be worth something. I'm not saying I should have been an elite seed, but I still think 9 is a little low. I was fully expecting a 6.
