The returning coaches that recruited last season, but not this time, probably lost interest in the game.

Also, IIRC there is supposed to be something for the new players that sign no recruits; the AC should do some recruiting even if the coaches put recruiting effort in.  Supposed to ease the newbies in when they are struggling.

As I mentioned just now in our CC... I sent a ticket at the beginning of the season in Allen about this same thing... after 3 responses / insults to my 5 yr knowledge of the game... I simply realized I knew more about the game than the person I was speaking to... and they really didn't care or see a problem. Whatever filled Allen DIII,  filled it with people who either don't really exist... or simply don't care. The above post by KuJ only touches on the human coached teams with all walkons.... I can't see where most sim teams filled a scholly either.

CS basically told me that the engine wouldn't take a lousy recruit to sadle a program for 4 seasons with him... it was programmed to take W/O's instead.

LOL,,,, even the sim is too picky to take the horrid recruits generated by the engine right now.

PS. and BTW... this is NOT just an issue of the engine doing the "right thing" for the good of all as CS was trying to play this off as... I simply couldn't get them to even look at the depth of the issue.

I quickly decided this was a Seble problem and not a first level CS problem.... maybe tha answer will be found here... a ticket is NOT the answer.

Is it weird for me to think you might almost end up with BETTER sim teams if the sim teams didn't expend any effort until later in the process?  Less times of getting on a player early and getting knocked off?
