i know it is possible to pull down a d2 recruit down to d3. how much more difficult is it to pull a guy down from d1 to play on your d3 school? is it  worth trying if the guy is within 100 miles?

Please explain! What was your prestiege at the time and what did the DI recruit look like?

i had an A+ prestige (Elmhurst, Tark)

He was a low level unranked D1 player.  I'm thinking it was  Olsen but I honestly don't remember for sure.  It might have been one of my senior guards..  The player was within 60 miles of me, and I didn't make the effort until fairly late before signings started and nobody else was on him.

I know of another school that pulled down a D1 player from Minnesota to D3 at the same time because we were having discussions about it on sitemail asking if either had done it before, but I don't want to out them.  If they see this and want to talk about it then they are welcome to.

Is it possible that they player had dropped to D2 when you recruited him? Sometimes, a player will be listed in two divisions simutaneously

i have dropped down to a c- prestige but it is a really low end d1 play just wnted to know if it is possible and what would be the max number of d2 plays i should go for if i have 4 spots open and dont want to be to risky and end up with to many walkons

It was zbrent!

Yes, it is possible to get unranked D1 guys within 70 miles to talk to you, but usually these guys are not as good as a lot of D2 guys you'll see, and if they are good, a D2 school will usually jump on them.  If you get really really lucky, you can pull in a studly D1 guy once in a blue moon.

it actually wasn't zbrent, though maybe he did it too. i assume youre talking about saltzman, but i'm not sure if he was a d1 or a d2 guy

I've done d1 to dIII before... A- prestige.  10 miles away.

distance big factor methinks
