I'm pretty confident in my projections for performance under normal circumstances, but I've never seen 101 pwr before. I suspect the performance at the extremes of ratings is something closer to logarithmic than linear - which makes me wonder - can this guy be useful at the ML level?

Nobody on any of your tard teams can play. That said, yeah he could DH or play 1B in a pinch.

Oh did you want projected numbers and stuff ? Why didn't you just ask? Obviously over the course of the season he will strike out 150+ times. If you can live with that then he will hit 40+ HR and walk 90+ times. His average will be quite low in Tacoma though .200 - .220 is my guess.

Actually, yeah, I thought that was implied. But I am often disappointed when I do that.

I figure in a neutral park a conservative estimate is .200/.290/.450. But I don't know how to find a comp with 101 pwr to confirm or refute my suspicion that pwr points past 85-90 carry increasing weight. Could he get an OPS of .800? What if he reaches 102 or 103?

I guess the only way to find out is to play him, but I hate to take him off the IV. Maybe come playoffs I'll bring him up as a pinch hitter.

Dont think he could get to .800 OPS on a regular basis. The OBP portion will be too low.

hbdgirl-- if you can't say something nice about anybody else, come sit next to me.

Dwoolery-- my formula says about .190/.280/.430, more like .220/.310/.470 against LHP.  But I think that's low; there's still some synergy between very high eye and power, I think, and my formula seems to miss a little low on players with very high power.  So maybe .240/.330/.510 against LHP, which is not special for a DH/bad 1B but I can see as how he could be a useful playoff bench player.  Finally, I think his power will probably reset to 100 or less in the offseason; you're experiencing the medical bug to get the power over 100.

No, that's the name of the song.  It's on their "High Voltage" album.
