Can you beat this collapse? Topic

From MLB 94828.  My team is leading the World Series 3-1 and headed to my second championship.  Game 5 my 1907 Modecai Brown gives up 14 hits and 6 ER in 6 innings and I lose 8-5.  Game 6 my 2009 Pablo Sandoval gets 3 RBI in the first three inning, but 1902 Joe Mcginnity only lasts three innings, my offense does squadoosh the rest of the game and I lose 4-3.  On to game 7 and Coupe De Grass.  Leading 6-2 going to the bottom of the 9th.  My $13.7 million ace 1907 Ed Walsh with 32 wins on the hill going for the CG.  Walks the bases loaded.  (Can you feel it coming...it gets better).  In comes my closer 2009 Mike Adams from the pen with a 2.40 ERA and .120 OAV.  Pitching to 1936 George Selkirk...here it comes...Grand Slam.  6-6.  Bottom of 11 Selkirk hits the last of three singles off '02 Mordecai Brown who I had stuck back in the pen for emergency...and I lose the game and the series.

Ouch.  Beat that.

Amy is the King, er...Queen of heartbreaking WS losses.

I think she lost 6 or 7 WS after being up 3-0.

Actually there is no simulated crying, but you can still actually cry.

Cbaltz, I don't know if this collapse was as epic as your's, but it's definitely worthy of mention.  I just completed an $80mil OL today where destpite being up by 5 games with only 12 to play, and a starting rotation consisting of 02 Jack Taylor, 95 Maddux and 00 Pedro, I proceeded to go 3-9 in the final 12 games with Greg and Pedro starting 9 of them, all at 100%. Despite the collapse, I still had a chance to clinch my div by being up 1 game with only two left and with Greg and Pedro going in the final 2.  However, neither could seal the deal, as they lost both, and I went from being a sure division winner to completely out of the playoffs.  Never thought I would see the day when Greg and Pedro would come up so small at money time.

So to make matters even worse if it was possible, my team blew a 2 games to none lead in the TOC.  Lost to 1993 Progressive team.  Got shut down with four runs in three games by Maddux, Bosio, and Langston.

I'm playing that team now.  They're up 1-0 in the second round.  If my team loses to them, I'm done!!!!!

I love telling this story. It was my 5th season of SIM, lost in the WS, but able to make it to my first TOC.

Don't lose a game up to the Championship series. Series gets tied 3-3, game 7 I have to go with my AAA starter as everyone else is toast.

1-0 top of the 9th 2 outs. Rickey Henderson drops "a lazy flyball" that would of been my TOC. (here it comes) next batter, home run. Down 2-1

Go into bottom of ninth, 2 outs, Rickey gets walked. Stan Musial up. (here it comes again) Rickey gets caught stealing for the third out. Did not now just how special that was as I have never gotten close in a TOC again.

I hate Rickey Henderson
