It's a money and organization game.  While I agree in principle, would it be fair to all those still in office to be forced to sit on their hands while Romney builds his organization and warchest because he's not currently employed?  They're all so far down to him right now anyway (in money and organization), you can't put them further behind the eight ball by making them wait while he works.

No - it would not be fair - but is it fair to the people who elected them to be their representatives to our government for them to be out campaigning all over the place?

Especially for a sitting president to be doing this.  (and this is not just a shot at Pres. Obama, but at all former presidents who have done this).

If he had not been campaigning JFK would not have been in Dallas! You may have a point Miller.

I'd limit every politician to one term.   When it stops being a career choice, we'll get better options.

whoa whoa whoa - are coming to some kind of a consensus here?

Time to call for a constitutional convention.

I will represent Ohio!

And when candidates no longer have to raise tens of millions, we'll get better representation instead of officials beholden to special interest groups.
Special interest just means a specific group of voters.

Is there any issue that isnt described by someone as a special interest?
