If you scroll over the names of SIM owners, you will see the HOFMC (Hall of Fame multiplier code). For ligapelota, for example, it is 1.063. For mensu54, it is 1.058, for crazystengel it is 1.033 and so forth. It is pretty much what the name implies. The expected performance of SIM players is multiplied by the HOFMC for each SIM owner. SIM does this because the SIM elite tend to promote participation in the game, incentivize new owners by showing them that, with sufficient investment, they can achieve winning results and they also contribute to everything from new software development, to the forums.
Correspondingly, new owners typically have an HOFMC slightly below 1.00 (usually somewhere between 0.92 and 0.99), depressing the performance of their players. This is not intended to punish new owners. Instead, they realize the benefits of longterm participation (and investment) in the SIM by seeing their HOFMC increase slowly over time . Also, the SIM algorithms obviously get thrown out of whack if the HOFMC prorated over the universe of SIM owners doesn't come out to exactly 1.00. Duh.
To give you a grossly oversimplified example -- let's say a certain SIM player typically produces 100 RC in a given SIM season. An owner with an HOFMC of 1.05 could expect him to generate about 105 RC; a SIM owner with an HOFMC of 0.95 would only average 95 RC with that same player season. In other words, no synchronization.
If you can't see the HOFMC when you scroll over your name, you should probably upgrade your browser.
Hope this helps.
